Not Alone with Melissa-Sue Methven

Neighbor Melissa Sue Methven is creating space for healing, faith, and honest conversations through her heartfelt podcast.

Behind the scenes: When we share our stories, we give others permission to heal.

Melissa Methven is an Agritopia neighbor and friend who is creating a meaningful path toward healing, connection, and hope. Through her podcast, Not Alone, she is meeting people in some of life’s most vulnerable moments, offering truth, encouragement, and the reminder that no one has to walk through hard things alone. In many ways, that message reflects the heart of Agritopia itself, a community built on connection, where we show up for one another and walk through both the highs and the hard seasons together.

Her work has been especially impactful for many, including our own neighbor and friend, Mellisa Nuclo, whose journey through cancer has touched so many in this community. Stories like hers are a powerful reflection of the heart behind Methven’s mission, where faith, connection, and resilience come together in a deeply meaningful way.

In her own words below, Methven shares more about the heart behind her podcast, her mission, and the stories that continue to bring hope and healing to others.

My podcast, Not Alone with Melissa-Sue Methven, was placed on my heart during a time when I realized how deeply people need connection, truth, and hope. After sharing my own story in my book The Truth Behind the Smiles, people began opening up to me in ways I never expected. I saw a common thread, so many of us are carrying silent struggles, yet healing becomes possible when we feel seen, heard, and not alone.

This podcast shares real stories of resilience, faith, healing, and transformation. I bring on experts and individuals who offer both personal journeys and tools rooted in faith, science, and the mind-body connection. As a dental hygienist for 17 years, I’ve always believed in root-cause healing and the connection between oral and overall health. My mission is to empower others to become their own health advocates.

One of the most meaningful episodes has been with Mellisa Nuclo. Her journey through cancer and healing is powerful proof that faith and mindfulness can support healing. Her testimony offers hope to others facing similar diagnoses.

My favorite moments are the laughter we share together, it’s real, authentic, and you can truly feel the Holy Spirit present in our conversation. Those moments remind me that healing isn’t just physical, it’s also joy, connection, and faith.

Some of my favorite moments overall are hearing from listeners that are complete strangers, who share how an episode helped them seek help, release shame, or simply feel less alone.

Living in Agritopia aligns beautifully with this mission. It’s a community deeply rooted in faith, unlike anywhere else I’ve lived. When I moved from Alaska, I prayed for a faith-based school and a safe, supportive place where my family could walk and feel connected. Through many miracles, God led me here. I share those moments in my book.
