For the Everest family, life in Ansley Park over the past six years has been filled with neighborhood friendships, park outings, and a whole lot of bulldog love. Their English bulldogs, Boone (8) and Todd (1), may not be the most active pups in the park, but what they lack in energy, they make up for in personality.

Boone was the first to join the Everests, quickly becoming a beloved family member. Last year, Todd arrived rather spontaneously—an “impulse addition” to give Boone some company. The two have been inseparable ever since, preferring the comfort of air conditioning over long strolls through the neighborhood.

Every afternoon, the Everests are greeted with what can only be described as a “confetti celebration.” Boone and Todd delight in shredding the daily mail as it slips through the door—a mischievous habit that has become part of the family routine. Another favorite pastime? Chasing and chewing on tennis balls, whether they’re found in the backyard or hunted down during trips to McClatchey Park.

For Nell (7) and Hattie Everest (5), growing up alongside Boone and Todd has been a gift. The bulldogs’ gentle and loving natures provide comfort, while also teaching the girls responsibility. From feeding to playtime, Boone and Todd are truly part of everyday family life, and the bond between the girls and their pups is a central part of the Everest home.

Though they aren’t big walkers, Boone and Todd enjoy the occasional car ride and will never pass up a chance to “terrorize” the outdoor cats in the yard. And while the beltline and local restaurants may be more the Everests’ speed, Boone and Todd remain the kings of their backyard domain.

With two playful bulldogs and two spirited sisters in the mix, the Everest home is always full of laughter, shredded paper, and plenty of slobbery love.
