A signature Atlanta event returns—celebrating philanthropy, community, and the women making a lasting impact.

On Monday, April 27, the ballroom at The St. Regis Atlanta filled with energy, elegance, and a shared sense of purpose as guests gathered for the 16th annual Women of Style & Substance Fashion Show and Luncheon, presented in partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue and The St. Regis Atlanta, benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
From the moment attendees arrived, it was clear this was more than a beautifully produced event. It was intentional. It was meaningful. And it reflected years of dedication from people committed to bringing the Atlanta community together for a greater good.
A VISION THAT STARTED 15 YEARS AGO
Fifteen years ago, Ginny Brewer and two friends helped launch a fashion show luncheon fundraiser benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. After the first several years, the event expanded beyond the traditional fashion show format to celebrate women making a philanthropic impact throughout the Atlanta community, eventually evolving into what is now known as Women of Style & Substance.
Today, eight women are honored annually, each nominated by past honorees and selected based on their dedication to philanthropy, leadership, and community involvement.
While the original co-chairs eventually moved away, Ginny remained committed to growing and evolving the event throughout all 15 years—helping shape it into one of Atlanta’s most respected philanthropic gatherings.
Now in its 16th year, the luncheon continues to unite a powerful network of women while raising meaningful funds and awareness for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country. This year’s event raised a record-breaking $439,200 in support of the hospital and its mission.
AN AFTERNOON THAT DELIVERED
The afternoon struck a perfect balance between sophistication and purpose.
A curated runway presentation from longtime sponsor Saks Fifth Avenue brought elegance to the stage, while the beautifully orchestrated setting at longtime host sponsor The St. Regis Atlanta created the perfect backdrop for the afternoon’s festivities.
The room carried a natural buzz—equal parts social, celebratory, and mission-driven.
One of the most meaningful moments of the afternoon came when Mallory, one of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s 2026 Miracle Children, shared her story alongside her family—reminding guests exactly why the event continues to resonate after all these years. In past years, families of patients—and often the children themselves—have courageously shared personal stories about the impact the hospital has had on their lives, grounding the afternoon in gratitude and purpose.
Guests also enjoyed curated live and silent auctions featuring everything from wellness experiences and luxury dining packages to bespoke custom hats, original artwork, fashion illustrations, and exclusive experiences. The creativity and generosity behind the auction reflected the spirit of the event itself.
Adding to the energy of the afternoon were Hope and Will, the beloved mascots representing the iconic logo of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, who delighted guests throughout the ballroom.
But beyond the fashion and the fundraising, the defining thread of the afternoon was clear: impact.
THE WOMAN BEHIND THE LEGACY
Style and fashion have long been part of Ginny Brewer’s story. In her early twenties, she co-founded the women’s specialty boutique Rexer-Parkes in Buckhead, which she co-owned and operated for 15 years. Today, she is the founder and buyer of Las Catalinas Collection, a resortwear boutique in Costa Rica that reflects her signature style of timeless elegance with an eclectic edge.
With a background in retail merchandising, Ginny has a natural instinct for dressing others—and she still finds great joy in helping friends define their personal style and feel their best.
But her true impact extends far beyond fashion.
Over the years, Ginny has devoted her time and energy to a wide range of nonprofit organizations across Atlanta. She has served full—and often multiple—terms on the boards of the Atlanta Ballet, GCAPP (Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential), Atlanta Botanical Garden, Zoo Atlanta, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation Board, the Southeastern Regional Board of UNICEF, and First Presbyterian Preschool.
She has also co-chaired major fundraising events for each of those organizations, in addition to events supporting the Atlanta History Center, Skyland Trail, Piedmont Park Conservancy, and SCAD—consistently helping organizations elevate both awareness and fundraising success.
Along the way, she has been honored and recognized by many of these institutions, but more importantly, she has developed a reputation for something far more powerful: the ability to bring people together for a greater good.
Guided by a simple principle—to do at least one thing each day that benefits someone beyond herself—Ginny leads by example. She and her husband, Charles Brewer, are the proud parents of three adult children, and she firmly believes that modeling a life of service leaves a far greater impact than simply teaching it.
In 2024, Ginny was surprised to learn that April 22 had officially been proclaimed “Ginny Brewer Day” in recognition of her longstanding philanthropic leadership and community impact across Atlanta—a gesture she received with both gratitude and humility.
Today, Ginny serves as the Founding Chair of Women of Style & Substance, a role that reflects not only the event’s history, but the enduring legacy she helped create.
HONORING WOMEN WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
A defining moment of the afternoon was the recognition of the 2026 Women of Style & Substance honorees, a group of accomplished women whose impact spans business, philanthropy, and community leadership.
This year’s honorees included:
Ginny Brewer, Catherine Brewton, Evelyn Fletcher Davis, Kerry Izard, Monét Masters Coats, Dr. Bahar Nia, Michelle Rooks, and Susan Watson.

The afternoon also recognized past honorees whose contributions helped shape the event’s legacy over the years. Among them were several women with Ansley Park ties, including Yum Arnold (2014), Louise Sams (2015), Audra Dial (2016), Michelle Edwards Crosland (2016), Veronica Biggins (2017), Sara Steinfeld (2017), and Paula Wallace (2024)—further underscoring the neighborhood’s longstanding connection to the event and its philanthropic mission.
For Ginny, being included among this year’s honorees created a meaningful full-circle moment—recognizing the woman who helped build the platform that has celebrated so many others throughout the years.
THE REAL TAKEAWAY
While the fashion, setting, and production made for a memorable afternoon, the true takeaway extended far beyond the ballroom.
Events like Women of Style & Substance play a meaningful role in supporting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta—helping ensure families have access to world-class care during some of life’s most difficult moments.
That impact is real. And thanks to the dedication of supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and leaders like Ginny Brewer, it continues long after the final guest leaves the room.
