A Taste of Inspiration at The Wimbish House

Atlanta’s event community came together for an evening of food, wine, music, creativity and connection at one of Midtown’s most distinctive historic venues.

On Thursday, August 27, The Wimbish House opened its doors for A Taste of Inspiration, an evening showcasing the people, creativity and expertise behind memorable events throughout Atlanta.

Organized by Maria Balais and her team at The Wimbish House, Vanessa Pillay, Cue Malcolm, and Madison Canter, the evening brought together a curated collection of Atlanta event and hospitality professionals, giving guests an opportunity to experience their work firsthand while exploring the historic Peachtree Street venue. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., guests were invited to taste, listen, mingle and discover the many elements that can transform a gathering into something truly special.

More Than a Showcase

Throughout the house, guests encountered something different from room to room. Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Affairs to Remember, Chef Cary’s, Party Execs, Proof of the Pudding, and Zest were among those sharing culinary talents, while Cakes by Anna offered something for the sweeter side of the evening.

Matthew Belter of Mac’s Beer & Wine hosted an intimate wine tasting, sharing selections and his knowledge with guests in a relaxed, conversational setting. It was one of many experiences that made the evening feel less like a traditional vendor showcase and much more like a celebration.

And there was plenty happening beyond food and wine. Music and entertainment, florals & decor, photography, film, event services and transportation were all featured. The moment you stepped on the porch, you were greeted with music and a photo booth from Strike a Pose. Beaty Facial Plastic Surgery & MedSpa was on hand representing the beauty and aesthetics side of event preparation, while Shindig My Event, Pro Tools Entertainment, Felix Wedding Films and Pineapple & Peach Hospitality were among other professionals participating.

Yo of Grapefruit Photo captured the people, details and energy of the evening, documenting a night that demonstrated just how many creative hands can go into producing an unforgettable event.

Togther, they created an atmosphere that was lively and welcoming, offering guests a glimpse into the remarkable range of talent behind Atlanta’s weddings, parties and special occasions.

A Setting Made for Celebrations

The venue itself was very much part of the experience. Located at 1150 Peachtree Street in Midtown, The Wimbish House is a beautifully preserved historic Atlanta home whose soaring ceilings, period architectural details, elegant rooms and grand staircase provide a striking backdrop for gatherings of all kinds.

The Wimbish House hosts 60+ events each year, ranging from weddings and milestone celebrations to corporate meetings, business retreats and nonprofit galas. A Taste of Inspiration gave guests the opportunity to see firsthand how the character and versatility of the house can become part of an event itself.

The evening reflected what Balais and The Wimbish House set out to create: an opportunity to discover new ideas, make meaningful connections and experience the many ingredients that go into a memorable occasion.

By the end of the night, the name seemed especially fitting. A Taste of Inspiration delivered just that: wonderful food and wine, music and entertainment, beautiful surroundings, creative ideas and a talented community of professionals, all coming together under one very special roof.

And there is more inspiration to come. The Wimbish House is planning another showcase in January, this time with a special focus on weddings and the professionals who help bring them to life.
