Ardsley Park Mom Melaney Crees
Building a Skincare Business Rooted in Love, Nature, and Necessity

Nestled in the heart of Ardsley Park, I am a woman on a mission—one that started with my family and has blossomed into a thriving business dedicated to clean, sustainable skincare. As the founder of Sage Adj. Wise, I have combined my passion for health, wellness, and nature to create a skincare line that not only nourishes the skin but also honors the wisdom of our ancestors.
My journey into the world of natural skincare began in the most personal way possible—through the health of my children. At the age of five, my daughter experienced a life-threatening allergic reaction to gluten. With these types of allergies comes skin inflammation. I became hyper-aware of the chemicals and additives lurking in everyday products. So many products on the market are filled with additives that irritate rather than heal. Nothing on retail shelves helped soothe my daughter's skin, so I began making salves and oils that did.
What began as determination soon evolved into something bigger. I became certified in organic skincare through a leading European Institute teaching organic and indie beauty formulation. I started creating formulas for aging and acne prone skin. When I discovered they not only worked but transformed the skin, I knew I had to share it.
At Sage Adj. Wise, I make small-batch, hand-crafted skincare using natural ingredients and therapeutic blends that truly support your skin. Many of the herbs and flowers I use are grown right here in our garden in Ardsley Park. The rest are sourced from high-quality, organic suppliers. I stay as close as possible to traditional, ancestral methods—from our calendula-infused oils and pure rose hydrosol to our healing herb immersions in organic apple cider vinegar. Quality takes time—and I honor that with every batch.
This commitment to purity and quality sets Sage Adj. Wise apart from mainstream skincare brands. We don’t use filler ingredients to cut costs. No fragrances, dyes, petroleum, or additives—just pure, effective skincare at an accessible price point. People are switching from expensive brands like La Mer to our Eternal Face Elixir, and we’ve had customers say our acne products have allowed them to stop using strong medications. Those are huge wins for me, and what keeps me going.
Besides building a clean indie skincare brand, I work full time as a construction manager, have two young daughters, coach soccer, and juggle all the chaos that comes with mom life. But this business lights me up. It’s something I feel deeply called to do. My design background helps me create a clean, polished brand—our labels, our website, every detail reflects the care and intention behind the products.
My family moved to Savannah from Los Angeles in 2018. We wanted a slower pace, a better quality of life, and more time together. Since then, we’ve welcomed our second daughter and fallen in love with Ardsley Park. Our girls, Oona and Neema, now 7 and 5, attend Blessed Sacrament, and we bike to school whenever we can. Our days are full of activity, but our hearts are full, too. My husband and I both work remotely—he's a senior art director in entertainment marketing—and together, we’ve built a life that blends creativity, community, and intention.
Despite our small size, we already ship across the continental U.S and will be submitting to Whole Foods for review. Locally we sell our products at Brighter Day Natural Foods, LiteFoot, and are featured in the facials offered at Peacefully Rooted by Hillary Esthetics. Additionally for those local to Savannah, I offer local porch pickup to save on shipping (yes, my front steps are often scattered with tiny shoes and toys—just part of the charm!).
For Ardsley Park residents looking to make the switch to cleaner skincare, start small. Change is hard, but if you start with one small thing, it will lead to more lifestyle changes. Try one clean product. If it works, try another. And who knows—maybe that will lead you to other healthy lifestyle changes, like planting a garden!
Everything I do with Sage Adj. Wise is rooted in love—for my daughters, for nature, for the legacy of wellness passed down through generations. Our ancestors gave sage advice about the healing power of plants—and I’m honored to carry that forward, for myself and for others.
You can shop the collection at sageadjwise.com, and if you’re local, just choose “porch pickup” at checkout. I’ll have it ready for you—nature’s best, wrapped in intention, waiting by the front door.
