Two Young Athletes, One Unstoppable Family Spirit: Meet Foster and Eva Parks
For siblings Foster and Eva Parks, sports have always been part of growing up together. After moving to Ardsley seven years ago, the Parks family quickly found their rhythm—busy schedules, practices, and plenty of encouragement from the sidelines. What started as one child kicking a ball soon became a shared love for athletics, teamwork, and chasing big goals.
Soccer was the spark that connected it all. Foster was the first to fall in love with the game, starting nearly ten years ago—back when, as he jokes, handballs were still allowed. His enthusiasm was impossible to miss, and before long, Eva was watching closely, ready to follow in her big brother’s footsteps. As soon as she was old enough, she joined in, and the sibling soccer story officially began.
Today, both Foster and Eva play for Savannah United, each carving out their own path while supporting one another along the way. Eva has quickly made a name for herself, earning a spot on the Savannah United Premiere Team—an exciting opportunity that includes traveling for competitions and playing at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. Inspired by professional soccer players, Eva dreams of one day joining their ranks. When she’s not on the field, she enjoys reading, painting, singing with her church choir, and spending time with her dog, Mr. Pickles.
Foster’s athletic interests stretch beyond the soccer pitch. In addition to soccer, he’s a member of Junior Guards on Tybee Island, he competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and Cross Country, representing Tybee Island Maritime Academy. One of his proudest moments came recently when he earned a spot on his middle school soccer team in sixth grade—a milestone that confirmed all the hard work was paying off. Inspired by his older cousin, who balanced club and varsity soccer as a high school freshman, Foster has his sights set on playing in college and, eventually, professionally.
Despite their different schedules and interests, the siblings share a similar mindset. Both know that sports can be challenging, but they also know that persistence makes all the difference. Eva encourages fellow athletes to keep trying, even when things feel tough, while Foster reminds others not to quit—because with time, the game becomes even more fun.
Whether they’re training, traveling, or cheering each other on, Foster and Eva Parks embody what it means to grow together through sports. Their journeys may look a little different, but their passion, determination, and love for the game are shared—making them a perfect pair to celebrate as Ardsley’s Athletes of the Month.
