Roger and Lori Tricco:
Spreading Laughter and Giving Back!

Roger and Lori Tricco’s warmth, generosity, and sense of fun have made them beloved community members. If you’ve spotted a clown on a boat cruising the lakes, chances are you’ve already encountered Roger in his element.
They have devoted their lives to family. In San Jose, they were active in the lives of their niece and nephew, and now, after moving to Arizona, they’ve embraced a new chapter—staying close to Lori’s brother, a firefighter, and playing an active role in the lives of his two children, ages 10 and 12. They are deeply involved in their extended family’s daily life, from school runs to soccer games.
One of the defining aspects of Roger and Lori’s life is their deep commitment to philanthropy, mainly through the Shriners. The Shriners Hospitals for Children provide world-class medical care to young patients, regardless of their ability to pay. The organization specializes in treating severe burns, orthopedic conditions, and other complex medical needs—lifesaving work that has profoundly impacted Roger.
Roger has been an active member of the Shriners for years, and his enthusiasm has led Lori to join the Lady Shriners, a group dedicated to supporting not only the hospitals but also local homeless initiatives and other community outreach efforts. Roger’s involvement has recently reached new heights as he was elected to the local Shriners’ leadership team, known as the “Divan,” where he plays a crucial role in the organization’s operations.
As a Shriner clown, Roger has brought smiles to countless faces. One of the neighborhood's most memorable stories is when he, Lori, and four friends dressed in clown makeup took their pontoon boat out for a spin. They were new to the neighborhood then, and seeing clowns on a boat caused quite a stir. Neighbors started calling one another, forming a chain of alerts that a boat full of clowns was heading their way. Those same people are now their friends, and the memory remains a favorite.
Roger and Lori don’t just give back; they also know how to enjoy life. They are avid travelers, having recently explored England, Ireland, and Scotland, where they lucked out with fantastic weather. Their upcoming trips include visits to Tahiti and St. Martin. Roger, a passionate scuba diver, is always looking for his next underwater adventure, while Lori shares his love for the outdoors. Whether skiing, golfing, or cheering on their favorite sports teams, they make the most of life’s experiences.
Before retirement, both Roger and Lori had successful careers. Lori spent 35 years in high-tech, working for Cisco Systems in the networking industry. Roger spent 20 years in medical sales, specializing in surgical equipment and training orthopedic and neurosurgical teams in its use. Now retired, they channel their time and energy into their passions—community service, travel, and making every moment count. One moment that counts is spending time with their dog, Macy, who was the subject of a previous Stroll article. Macy was a rescue Beagle who at age 3 picked them and it was love at first sight.
The Triccos have built a life of kindness, generosity, and fun. Whether supporting life-changing medical care for children, showing up for a soccer game, or making a grand entrance as a clown on a boat, Roger and Lori bring warmth and energy to everyone around them. We proudly celebrate their incredible contributions and the joy they bring to our neighborhood.
