The Mosers – Embracing Adventure and Community

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of BackCountry, the Moser family has made a home overflowing with creativity, passion, and a zest for life. After relocating from Singapore four years ago, their story reflects a unique blend of experiences, cultures, and unwavering family values, making them a perfect fit for this vibrant community.

Meet the Family

At the helm is Steve, a dynamic entrepreneur who has recently transitioned from the energy sector to managing specialty contracting companies through his venture, Quivion. With a background in mechanical engineering and business, Steve’s professional journey has taken him from Texas to Singapore and now to the majestic mountains of Colorado. He appreciates the diversity of his career and the opportunities that come with family life in this stunning environment.

His wife, Rebecca, brings a compassionate heart and a wealth of knowledge as a dietitian. Originally from Massachusetts, she attended Brigham Young University, where she met Steve. Currently, she substitutes at local schools while cherishing her role as a full-time mom. “Every moment is precious as our kids are growing up fast,” Rebecca shares.

Their eldest son, Evan, is a passionate senior at Thunderridge High School, where he balances academics with his love for the arts. A talented musician, Evan excels at both the piano and guitar, and has been involved in volleyball for the Grizzlies for six years. His experiences in Singapore allowed him to discover his knack for languages and embark on a humanitarian trip to Peru, where he practiced his Spanish. He currently works after school at Windcrest and is eagerly looking toward his future adventures.

Fifteen-year-old Kaitlyn is the creative force in the family. With interests in reading, art, and student government, she is always brimming with ideas. This year she took the initiative to start a service club at her high school, exemplifying her heart for giving back to the community. “Her creativity and compassion for others continuously inspire us,” Rebecca notes. Kaitlyn has run her own summer camps, showcasing her natural ability to connect with children.

Zack, at 13, is an aspiring athlete who thrives on the playing fields and the slopes. A proud member of the football, golf, and track teams, his true passion lies in skiing – a shared love he nurtures with his father. He is not just about sports, though; Zack is also a budding entrepreneur, participating in the business club at school and cultivating his love for F1 racing.

Camden, the youngest at just 11, is a sports enthusiast who plays catcher in baseball and drums in the school band. He brings an infectious enthusiasm to family hikes and has developed an affection for finding Bigfoot, which adds an adventurous twist to their outdoor explorations. Camden’s daily goal is to make 101 people smile, a testament to his cheerful outlook on life.

Completing their family is Mackie, the lovable Aussie-Doodle, who enjoys the high-energy lifestyle of his human companions. Named after family friends from Australia, Mackie adds an extra layer of joy to the Johnson household.

A Life in BackCountry

The Mosers cherish their life in BackCountry, where the scenic beauty of the mountains is matched only by the warmth of the community. “Leaving Texas and moving to Colorado has been an incredible change; we love experiencing true seasons and adults and kids alike bonding over outdoor adventures,” Steve remarked.

One remarkable aspect of their journey is their youngest son, a Syngap1 warrior, facing challenges from a rare genetic condition. Since moving to Colorado, the family has been fortunate to be near the second Syngap1 clinic in the United States, offering them hope and support. They are looking forward to attending the 8th Annual Syngap1 conference in Denver this December, eager to learn more about the condition and connect with other families.

As the Mosers continue to intertwine their lives with the community of BackCountry, their story serves as a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of family. Whether it's a sunny day on the slopes, a musical jam at home, or a community service project, they epitomize the spirit of adventure that characterizes this remarkable neighborhood.
