The Lindenburg Family - Embracing Adventure and Community in BackCountry

Nestled within the stunning landscapes of BackCountry, where the sun shines an impressive 300 days a year, the Lindenburg family has truly found their haven. Comprising Katie, Brian, and their three energetic boys; Jack (9), Graham (6), and the youngest, Will (3), this family exudes warmth and a passion for both adventure and community.

Katie hails from Youngstown, Ohio, and is a proud graduate of Miami University of Ohio. In tandem with her father, she runs Dynamic Portfolio Strategies, a financial services firm that provides sophisticated portfolio performance tools for Registered Investment Advisors across the country. Her career is marked by a commitment to excellence, paralleling her dedication to the community at Platte River Academy, where Jack and Graham attend school. Serving on the school board and the finance committee, Katie tirelessly works to enhance the educational experiences of all students while staying actively connected to her boys’ schooling and extracurricular activities.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Katie is equally dedicated to her community. One of her most cherished projects involves coordinating the Thanksgiving meal program for families in need within the BackCountry neighborhood. Every year, she collaborates with local families to organize donations, helping to provide festive meals for over 300 families. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the outpouring of generosity from our neighbors during the holiday season,” Katie reflects. “BackCountry truly embodies a spirit of support and kindness.” In her downtime, Katie relishes the breathtaking trails and open spaces that BackCountry has to offer. She often embarks on long walks, taking in the beautiful surroundings while enjoying a moment of tranquility amidst her busy life.

Brian, originally from Avon, Connecticut, complements Katie's dynamic personality with his own robust career. A graduate of Union College with an MBA from Columbia Business School, he is immersed in the world of commercial real estate. His role with a leading global alternative investment management firm involves overseeing a national portfolio of assets, a challenging yet rewarding position. Brian’s professional journey led him to Denver in 2020, where the family relocated amid a search for a more spacious, suburban environment.

The couple first crossed paths in Chicago while Katie was thriving professionally and Brian was beginning to solidify his career in real estate. Their mutual friends encouraged them to meet during one of Brian’s business trips, and after a delightful connection, Katie took the brave step of moving to New York City. The couple flourished in the vibrant city for nearly a decade before deciding to settle down, particularly after the birth of their sons.  The family’s transition to BackCountry came during a time of significant change and exploration. “When we moved to Colorado, we wanted an environment that would allow our children to thrive outdoors, away from the congestion and high costs of the Northeast,” recalls Brian. “BackCountry captivated us with its stunning mountain views and expansive open spaces, offering the perfect blend of suburban tranquility and city accessibility.”

The Lindenburg household is brimming with energy, love, and laughter, a beautiful chaos that only comes with raising three young boys. Jack, a spirited third-grader, is the quintessential athlete, participating in flag football, lacrosse, and basketball. The weekends are a whirlwind of games and practices, where Jack is often found racing from one sport to another, cheered enthusiastically by his little brothers from the sidelines. Graham, now in kindergarten, is starting to show his own interest in sports, while Will, at just three years old, enjoys being right in the mix, often running onto the field after games to celebrate with his brothers, a true family affair. “We’ve embraced the lively atmosphere that comes from having three boys,” says Katie. “It’s filled with adventurous moments, occasional disputes, and endless love. There’s never a dull moment in our home, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The family has made it their mission to incorporate traditions from their Jewish upbringing into their life in BackCountry. Recently, they joined a synagogue in the Southmoor Park area, where they have enthusiastically connected with other families, sharing holiday traditions that revolve around food, friendship, and togetherness. "Bringing people together around the table is something we cherish," Brian shares. "We love inviting friends from all backgrounds to experience our traditions, and it’s a wonderful way to build meaningful connections within the community." Celebrating holidays in their home has become more than just a ritual; it's a joyful occasion that allows the family to reinforce their values while creating lasting memories.

Some of their fondest moments come from everyday activities, watching the boys ride bikes with friends, connecting with neighbors during evening gatherings, and simply enjoying the great outdoors that BackCountry provides. As residents of BackCountry since 2022, the Lindenburg family feels deeply rooted in this vibrant community. The accessibility to hiking trails, parks, and the stunning natural beauty of the surroundings has turned their neighborhood into an adventure playground for the boys. It’s a place where they can explore, grow, and create lifelong memories together.

Reflecting on their journey, Katie remarks, “BackCountry isn’t just a place we live; it’s become who we are as a family. We’ve found our community here, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of something so special.” With Katie’s philanthropic spirit and Brian’s dedication to providing a nurturing environment for their boys, the Lindenburg family exemplifies the essence of community living in BackCountry. Their story reminds us all of the joy that comes from embracing life’s adventures together, tied together with love, support, and a strong sense of belonging.
