Closet Factory Colorado - A BackCountry resident, redesigning our neighborhood homes

Cheryl moved to Denver in 1986. Graduated from the University of Denver in 1990. She's been married to her husband Joe for 28 years and has 2 adult children. Madeline is 23, and Andrew is 21. Her only "child" at home is her beloved goldendoodle, Charlie. Cheryl has been a senior designer for Closet Factory Colorado for the past 6 years and is also a former client. She moved to Backcountry in 2023 after helping many residents with their custom organizational needs, experiencing the beautiful views and open spaces. Since then, she's helped over 25 neighbors in Backcountry achieve their organizational goals by designing their dream spaces.

Closet Factory has been a locally family-owned business for 35 years. They introduced the custom organizational category to the Denver market, creating unique designs to fit clients' lifestyles and elevate their home's elegance, functionality and values.

Custom organizational needs: Walk-in/Reach-In closets, home office, Mud room/bench, Laundry Rooms, Pantries, Entertainment Centers, Wall beds, Wall Units & Craft Rooms

Locally owned and built products, Custom 3D Design Consultation, employed installers, floor-based construction (built-in furniture construction and durability), and, of course, the designer!

The Closet Factory Colorado franchise has explicitly partnered with specific local organizations to mentor and support youth. They focus our efforts on two organizations: The "Bags for Kids" Initiative (Foster Care Support) and Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado, which helps academically motivated children in need to meet their full potential by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities, and education.

Unlike many competitors who order parts from a central national factory, Closet Factory Colorado manufactures locally in Centennial.

The Challenge: Running a full manufacturing plant is expensive and operationally complex. It requires maintaining expensive machinery, managing raw material supply chains, and retaining skilled woodworkers in a competitive labor market.

The Solution: They turned this liability into their biggest asset. By keeping manufacturing local, they can fix mistakes instantly. If a part is cut wrong during an install in Denver, they can re-cut it in Centennial and have it back on site the same day or next day, whereas a competitor might have to wait weeks for a shipment from out of state.

In an effort to scale our business, they've modernized their manufacturing and design operations to improve quality and create a better customer experience, including 3D renderings.

The primary vision for the future is shifting the perception of the company from just "closets" to a full-scale home Design Concept. The kitchen is the only room we don't typically work on.

Annual events:
Cheryl is an annual vendor participant in the BackCountry's Fall Bazaar. Closet Factory Colorado has an annual full display at the Denver Home & Garden Show and regularly showcases projects at events and model homes throughout the Denver area.

Not only does a closet transformation bring an owner calm and joy, but it also makes financial sense. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), a closet renovation recovers approximately 83% of its cost at resale. A home with custom closets sells faster, which saves you money on carrying costs (mortgage, taxes, utilities) while the house sits on the market. If you are considering a project, a consultation is free, and it's fun! She would love to help you transform your space!
