Meet the Klenotic Family

Phil and Christina have called the Beach Cliff neighborhood home for the past 11 years after outgrowing their first house in Cleveland Heights.
They were drawn to the walkability, strong schools, and close proximity to downtown. The mix of historic homes and updated renovations felt like the perfect fit for their shared style. They describe themselves as grateful to be raising their family in a home and neighborhood they truly love.
Phil is a biochemist at Case Western Reserve University, and Christina works remotely as a marketing leader for Lowe’s. Together, they have built a home centered around connection, curiosity, and time spent together.
Their two children, Dylan, 15, and Sienna, 13, are both active and involved. Dylan recently got his temps and is already saving for his first car while working as a server at Normandy. He also enjoys ski club. Sienna is a dedicated student who plays club volleyball and spends time with friends throughout the neighborhood. Both kids help out locally with dog walking, pet sitting, and babysitting.
At home, Daisy, their mini goldendoodle, and Lily, their Bengal cat, keep things lively. The two are nearly the same size and often end up tangled together while wrestling.
Evenings tend to follow a familiar rhythm. After dinner, Phil and Christina check on their yard before heading out for a passeggiata, or evening stroll, with Daisy. They describe themselves as helicopter plant parents, especially when it comes to Christina’s love of flowers. Dahlias are a particular favorite, whether she is growing them, arranging bouquets for friends and neighbors, or pressing them into books.
Phil and Christina’s shared interests reflect both personality and place. Phil is a devoted Cleveland sports fan and enjoys bourbon, while he and Christina also love attending musicals and subscribe to Playhouse Square’s Broadway Series. Christina is a founding Leading Ladies member and owns a unique piece of Cleveland history, a tester bulb from Euclid’s well-known street chandelier.
Travel is an important part of family life for the Klenotic family. A recent trip to Costa Rica included exploring rainforests, waterfalls, and wildlife, while an upcoming trip to Croatia is already on the calendar. The family has also been pursuing dual Italian citizenship, which reflects their appreciation for Italian culture and way of life.
That influence shows up close to home as well. Favorite local spots include Stino’s, which even inspired a visit to Galleria Umberto in Naples, Italy, after recognizing the mural connection. They are also looking forward to the opening of Pietro’s in the same space. Other go-to spots include Lake Road Market, Olive Scene, Pure Enchantment, and Sacred Hour.
Holidays in Tangletown are a highlight each year. From Halloween to Christmas, the neighborhood comes alive. Last year, the family worked with neighbors to decorate with large nutcracker inflatables. While the weather did not always cooperate, the experience brought plenty of laughter and shared effort.
Oakwood Beach holds a special place for the Klenotic family. It is where they bring visiting friends and relatives, and they have been involved in supporting its preservation through planning efforts and fundraising.
In many ways, their story reflects what makes Beach Cliff special. It is a place where everyday routines, shared traditions, and time spent together create something meaningful.
