For Alexandria native Cathy Bradford, the connection to King’s Jewelry began long before a career. Growing up just a block away from the store, while her own family ran the beloved Hollywood Restaurant, she was surrounded by the spirit of local business and close-knit community from an early age. Today, she is approaching an impressive 40-year milestone at King’s Jewelry, continuing a legacy that feels as much like family as it does work.

That sense of family is at the heart of everything King’s Jewelry represents. Cathy’s husband, Norman “Brad” Bradford, also born and raised in Alexandria, began working at the store in 1962, just a few years after it first opened in 1955. Over time, Brad’s dedication and vision led him to purchase the business from its original owners. With thoughtful changes and a deep understanding of his customers, he transformed King’s Jewelry into the trusted and thriving establishment it is today. After an incredible 57-year career, Brad retired in 2020—but the family tradition continues.

Now, the next generation carries the torch. Their daughter Tari and sons Andrew and Gregory work side-by-side, ensuring that King’s Jewelry remains a true family business, rooted in personal connections and shared values.
