LOCAL ROOTS, PERSONAL SERVICE: BEAU PROCTOR BUILDS ON ALLSTATE LEGACY IN ALEXANDRIA

For Beau Proctor, insurance isn’t just business—it’s personal. A lifelong Northern Virginian and now the owner of a longstanding Allstate agency in Alexandria, Proctor has spent the past five years helping families across the DMV protect what matters most.

“Everyone’s situation is unique,” Proctor said. “When I’m putting together a quote or reviewing a policy, I focus on what’s important for that individual or family. It’s not just about finding the cheapest price—it’s about making sure they’re properly protected.”

Proctor’s journey to becoming an agency owner started in Fairfax Station, where he was born and raised. After graduating from South County High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Radford University in 2012. Summers were spent selling cars, eventually leading to a full-time career in the auto industry—where a chance conversation would change everything.

“In 2016, George Nalls—who had owned the Allstate agency since the 1980s—approached me about insurance,” Proctor recalled. “I was looking for something new and I haven’t looked back since.”

The agency has deep roots in the community, tracing back to a Sears booth in Landmark Mall. Now located in a brick-and-mortar office in Alexandria for over 35 years, the agency maintains a local-first philosophy that has carried it through changing times.

“We’re unique in that we’re still a physical presence in the community,” said Proctor. “People can stop in, call us directly, or do business online—whatever works best for them. No 800 numbers, no call centers—just personal service.”

Proctor's wife, Chelsey, also an Allstate agent since 2022, is a big part of the family business. Married in 2023, the couple work together in the agency with occasional help from their rescue dogs, Maggie and Walter, who are often spotted in the office.

Insurance may be a stable industry in terms of demand, but it comes with its own challenges. Proctor says the recent volatility in pricing is something most families are feeling.
“Premiums have gone up significantly in the last five years,” he said. “It causes people to shop around or cut coverage. But our job is to educate and make sure people understand their options.”

Proctor emphasizes the importance of policy reviews. “I always tell people—review your coverage every year or two. You’d be surprised how many folks have had the same policy for decades but don’t really know what’s in it.”

Outside the office, Proctor fuels his passion for cars at local “cars and coffee” events and tries to sneak in a round of golf whenever he can. But his focus remains on growing the agency and serving the Belle Haven community and beyond.

“We just celebrated five years since I became the agency owner,” he said. “And I’m excited for what’s ahead. Our mission is simple—protecting our neighbors and providing top-level service, every single day.”
