PETALS, POSES & PINOT

What happens when you bring together flowers, yoga and wine on a sunny Saturday afternoon in late August? A pretty wonderful way to say goodbye to summer. The first annual Belle View Crawl—Petals, Poses & Pinot—brought neighbors together for an afternoon of creativity, relaxation, laughter and, of course, a little sipping.
The fun began in the back workroom at The Virginia Florist, where owner Kendall Rife welcomed participants with buckets overflowing with flowers and greenery. The room was thick with the scent of fresh blooms as everyone created an arrangement around a Pinot bottle, choosing from a beautiful palette of autumnal oranges, deep purples and sunny yellows.
Then, bottles and bouquets in hand, the group strolled through Belle View Shopping Center to Jess Purtell Yoga. Wine bottles tucked into cubbies, everyone settled onto their mats for slow, intentional movement, soothing music, deep relaxation and mindful breathing, ending with a peaceful “om shanti, shanti, shanti.”
Finally, it was off to Unwined, where wine buyer Nikki Drake poured Pinots from Oregon, Burgundy, Austria and Australia. Neighbors sipped, chatted and lingered, savoring not just the wine but the simple pleasure of spending a Saturday afternoon together.
