And believe it or not, the way owners Will and Avery first met makes their story all the more unique!

I grew up in Indianapolis and my business partner, Avery, is from Mississippi.

I have lived in the area about 8 years, and Avery has been here for close to a decade! Do you mind sharing what brought you and Avery to the Nashville area?

My wife and I have two girls, Lainey (3) and Goldie (1). Avery has a 6-year-old daughter, Evie, and a 4-year-old son, Asher. 

Avery and I are co-owners of Denali Pools and Outdoors, a business we started with the goal of creating incredible backyard resorts our clients never want to leave. 

Avery had been working as a custom home builder, and I was building pools for many of the homes he constructed. With a background in landscape architecture, I was designing pools, hardscapes, and outdoor living spaces, both for myself and other builders. I also owned a masonry and hardscape company that handled the installations, including many of Avery’s projects. Eventually, Avery suggested we team up and launch our own pool company, so instead of working for other builders, we could create something exceptional together.

At Denali, we guide our clients through every step of the process, from initial design to the final touches, without ever having to hand them off to someone else. It all begins with a custom design, which we bring to life through detailed 3D renderings. We even offer virtual reality walk-throughs, giving clients a fully immersive, 100% accurate preview of their future outdoor space.

Once construction begins, we take care of everything: pools, hardscapes, masonry, landscaping, fencing, irrigation, sod, and beyond. We also build pool houses and install synthetic turf, golf simulators, outdoor putting greens, and pickleball or basketball courts. While many companies stop at just the pool, we set out to simplify the entire experience, creating a seamless process so homeowners can focus on enjoying their space, not managing it.

The biggest advice I can tell the residents when hiring any contractor is to find someone who is going to work with you every step of the way. We are there for our customers from the first design, until project completion, and then handing them off to our service team we work with on weekly pool maintenance.

Avery and I have a unique story; one that began in an unexpected way. In 2020, my wife and I had just moved into our new home and were only three nights in when the devastating Nashville tornadoes hit. The storm completely destroyed our house, ripping off the roof and brick walls, and leaving it beyond repair. It needed to be torn down. The very next day, we called a builder we knew to see if he could help us rebuild. He said the location was a bit too far for him, but mentioned he had just met another builder who lived nearby and suggested we call him. That happened to be Avery, an introduction that turned into a partnership. Avery built our new home, and soon after, we began collaborating on pool projects. The rest is history!
