Sunny the Bernedoodle

Sunny the Bernedoodle is already making a gentle, memorable impression in the neighborhood—despite having only arrived in February 2026 with new residents Grayson Emory and Thomas Broders. While they all may be new to the area, it’s clear they’ve quickly found their rhythm, embracing the laid-back Florida lifestyle and the welcoming community around them.

Sunny is a Bernedoodle, a thoughtfully designed hybrid breed that combines the best qualities of the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle. First intentionally bred in 2003, Bernedoodles are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and family-friendly temperament. They often inherit the Poodle’s low-shedding coat along with the calm, affectionate nature of the Bernese—traits that make them exceptional companions. Sunny is no exception.

Described as calm, well-behaved, and a bit camera-shy, Sunny has a quiet charm that stands out. While some dogs thrive on attention, Sunny seems to prefer a more relaxed approach, content to observe the world with a steady, easygoing presence. That calm demeanor makes Sunny a perfect fit for both cozy days at home and leisurely outings around the neighborhood.

One of Sunny’s absolute favorite activities? Riding in the golf cart. Whether it’s a short cruise through the streets or a trip to a nearby park, Sunny is always ready to hop on and enjoy the ride. If given the choice, it’s safe to say a golf cart adventure would top the list every time.

When it comes to local favorites, Sunny enjoys visiting Hunters Memorial Park and Bluffs Park—perfect spots for soaking in the outdoors and enjoying the Florida sunshine. These peaceful green spaces offer plenty of room to relax and explore, aligning perfectly with Sunny’s laid-back personality.

As the family settles into their new community, they’ve also found a few local gems worth recommending, including McKenzie Metts-Mav Realty, Belleair Market, and Marcotte’s—businesses that help make the neighborhood feel like home.

Though still new to the area, Sunny is already a wonderful example of what makes pets such an important part of the community. A calm presence, a loyal companion, and a reminder to slow down and enjoy the ride—preferably from a golf cart.
