Reid built a successful 24 year career in corporate technology before joining the business full time. Together, they purchased Floor Coverings International seven years ago, combining their backgrounds in design, technology, and customer service to create a company focused on raising the standard for home improvement.

Their mission is simple but ambitious: improve the image of home improvement contracting in Florida one project at a time. That commitment is reflected in every stage of the process, from the first consultation through the final walkthrough.

Today, the company serves homeowners, interior designers, builders, remodelers, commercial contractors, and business owners throughout the region. Their innovative Mobile Flooring Showrooms bring more than 3,000 flooring samples directly to customers' homes, allowing them to compare colors and materials in their own lighting and décor. The team also provides complete project management, including product ordering, storage, subfloor preparation, and professional installation of hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, carpet, custom tile, and more.

The Holdens' expertise is strengthened by a team with decades of industry experience. Two years ago, they acquired a respected local flooring company with a 34 year history, expanding both their service area and the depth of knowledge available to customers. Longtime owner Bill Hess continues to serve in a sales and consulting role, adding even more experience to an already outstanding team.

Community involvement is another cornerstone of the business. From supporting Habitat for Humanity and participating in local service organizations to helping uplift neighborhoods during post hurricane recovery efforts, Shona and Reid believe in serving the community that has supported them. Shona also remains active in Rotary, continuing the couple's commitment to giving back.

Floor Coverings International recently opened its first dedicated St. Pete Design Center, creating a collaborative space where homeowners, designers, and builders can explore products, gather inspiration, and participate in educational events with leading manufacturers.
