Meet Alex Anderson

From the age of three, Alex Anderson, nicknamed Alex 2K by his basketball coach, has been active in sports, exploring everything from basketball and football to baseball, soccer, and gymnastics. His diverse athletic background has instilled in him a strong sense of teamwork and the drive to stay active year-round.

His dedication is particularly evident in football, where his first team at DSYSA was the Minnesota Vikings, sparking his ongoing passion for the NFL team. Influenced by their star Justin Jefferson, Alex admires the wide receiver’s spectacular plays and has adopted a similar fervor in his approach. His favorite part of football though is making plays on defense and making an interception. Alex is excited to start tackle football for the first time this fall with his 5th grade buddies.

Currently, Alex is playing his 3rd season of select basketball with TWE and flag football with DSYSA. His sportsmanship and skill were notably recognized at the BPSC Basketball Camp last summer, where he was named "Best Camper" by the coaching staff, an honor that highlights his leadership and athletic prowess on the court.

One of Alex's most memorable sports moments was during the DSYSA Fall Flag Football Championship last fall. In a heart-stopping finale, he caught a game-winning pass from his best friend, securing a victory that epitomized the spirit of teamwork and joy in competition.
Alex lives by a philosophy that underscores the importance of enjoyment and resilience in sports: Have fun, don’t give up, and believe in yourself. These principles guide him not only in his personal growth but also in uplifting his teammates, creating a supportive and positive sports environment.

As he looks forward, Alex dreams of a future in the NFL, fueled by his experiences and the lessons learned from participating in various sports. His advice for younger athletes is to try a broad range of sports, enhancing their adaptability and finding their love for a sport- or two!
