Getting to know Aaron Foster and Dr. Leah Foster

Introducing Dr. Leah and Aaron Foster, your friendly neighbors from Kinderton Village. More than two decades ago, when they first met, they could never have imagined that they would become a rare modern-day phenomenon—high school sweethearts, who would defy the odds, marry, and thrive together. The couple moved to North Carolina in 2014, after falling in love with the area during visits to Leah’s father, Dr. Kurt Gibson, a dentist, and his wife, Carrie Gibson, a realtor, in Bermuda Run.
How do you define a person? Is it their individual accomplishments, like Aaron’s time as an Eagle Scout or Dr. Leah’s background in ballet and service with organizations like Rotary? Or perhaps it’s their shared interests—art, corgis, traveling, and a love for all things “nerdy,” including gaming and Ren Faires. Or maybe, like most of us, it’s a mix of everything—roots, experiences, and the unique passions that shape the way they live.
Both Aaron and Leah hail from Guymon, Oklahoma, a town with flat, open landscape reminiscent of Kansas in The Wizard of Oz. Aaron’s family was small and close-knit, while Leah’s was large and lively, with dozens of kids running through packed houses during the holidays. Aaron spent much of his time creating art or running a hobby shop her started selling cars and planes. Leah, on the other hand, was often involved in her church or curled up with a fantasy novel. They would find each other during Aaron’s senior year. After Aaron spent two years at nearby Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Leah joined him there, where he studied computer graphics and she pursued pre-med. Aaron went on to earn his master’s degree while Leah completed her bachelor’s.
However, Leah’s career path took an unexpected turn. Their 5-year-old corgi, Sakura, became partially paralyzed. After three days of immobility, Leah was referred to an animal chiropractor. The treatment worked wonders—within minutes, Sakura went from being unable to stand to sitting up, and later regained full mobility. This experience inspired Leah to pursue a career in chiropractic care. The couple moved to Dallas, Texas, where Leah completed her doctoral education while Aaron worked in graphic design and marketing. With her doctorate in hand, Dr. Leah Foster, along with Aaron, decided to relocate to North Carolina.
In Winston-Salem, they opened Life Abundant Chiropractic. What began as a small, family-run practice, with Aaron helping to manage the office while freelancing from a back room, has blossomed into a fully staffed, thriving clinic. Dr. Leah’s vision for the practice was clear from the beginning: she wanted to create a patient-centered space that felt like an old-fashioned family doctor’s office—where patients are treated with care and attention, rather than feeling rushed through a 5-minute appointment they will overpay for.
Dr. Leah partners with local clinicians and hospitals to ensure her patients always receive the highest level of care and are referred to the right specialists when necessary. She’s committed to creating an environment where patients feel comfortable and trust the clinic to be a primary care provider. To stay at the forefront of her field, Dr. Leah continues her education in areas ranging from neurology to disease management, always striving to provide the latest knowledge and give patients peace.
For Dr. Leah and Aaron, it’s more than just a business—it’s a way to give back to the community they love. Through their story, you see the power of love, resilience, and a shared commitment to helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives. The Fosters’ journey is a testament to the strength of family, the importance of pursuing your passions, and the profound impact of providing care with compassion.
