The Bermuda Run Garden Club made the holiday season brighter for local families by combining generosity, creativity, and community spirit in support of Storehouse for Jesus.
For Thanksgiving, club members delivered twenty complete turkey dinners along with a $400.00 donation to provide additional meals if needed. Luanne and Leo Taylor, Beth and Tim Wright, and Cindy O’Hagan helped deliver the meals to Storehouse for Jesus with Michael, the manager at Food Lion. The donation ensured that families in Davie County received everything they needed to enjoy a warm holiday meal at home.
The giving continued at the Annual Storehouse for Jesus Luncheon held on December 5th at Bermuda Village. The Garden Club provided nine holiday centerpieces to be raffled off at the luncheon. Participants purchased raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the gorgeous arrangements featuring poinsettias, lemon cypress, frosted ferns, amaryllis, a cheerful snowman display, and a brass lantern decorated for Christmas.
Centerpiece chairs Diane Guthrie and Janet DeLong worked alongside Donna Lamonds to create the nine arrangements. Alice Bostrom, Peggy Schuppert, PJ Guerra, Luanne Taylor, Gaye Orsini, Keri Lard, Jenny Spencer, and Beth Wright assisted with setup and support throughout the event. The raffle raised $1350.00 in donations.
During the luncheon, the Bermuda Run Garden Club also presented a $2000.00 check to Storehouse for Jesus to support the organization’s ongoing work in the community.
