Andy Fenn’s Journey to Bermuda Run

Andy Fenn may be new to Bermuda Run, but she’s no stranger to the area. She spent years in Clemmons, raising her two sons, Chris and Hayes Eagle, who are now grown with families of their own. Both still live nearby, keeping family connections strong.
Chris, an entrepreneur, runs an online business and a lawn care service in Davie County. He and his family live on a small farm filled with goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, and other animals. Excitingly, they are expecting Andy’s second granddaughter this June! Hayes works as an insurance agent for Blue Moon Benefits and lives in Lewisville. His family includes Andy’s first granddaughter, a delightful one-year-old.
Andy treasures the time they all spend together exploring breweries, enjoying local music, hiking, and soaking in the great outdoors.
Her career journey has been as dynamic as her life. Andy first worked as a stockbroker for 15 years in Winston-Salem before transitioning to the furniture industry in High Point, where she flourished as a furniture illustrator and designer. This move felt natural, as her family’s roots in the industry run deep.
When Andy was a senior in high school, her family relocated from Pennsylvania to North Carolina when her father joined Thomasville Furniture Industries as Vice President of Sales. He later founded LADD Furniture and served as Honorary Consul General for North Carolina, focusing on trade with Japan in the furniture industry. Her brothers built careers as furniture sales reps and executives, and her sister married a furniture designer. Even her niece and nephew now work in the family’s furniture design business.
Andy credits the move to North Carolina for leading her to Appalachian State University, where she earned a degree in Art Education with a minor in Biology. Her time in Boone was filled with adventure—playing varsity field hockey, skiing, hiking the Pisgah National Forest, and falling in love with the Appalachian Mountains.
After college, Andy’s life took her on many adventures. She married her college sweetheart and moved to Hilton Head, where she managed art galleries, worked in real estate, and even lived on a sailboat! She and her husband were avid SCUBA divers, a passion that led her to a short stint in Puerto Rico before eventually returning to Winston-Salem. There, she remarried and devoted herself to raising her two sons while cheering them on at baseball games, BMX races, Spartan Runs, and triathlons.
Andy’s love for the water runs deep, nurtured during childhood summers spent at her family’s second home at Smith Mountain Lake. These days, her travels keep her busy. She has explored most of the contiguous U.S., but Maine holds a special place in her heart, drawing her back for semi-annual road trips. Favorite destinations also include kayaking trips to Islamorada, hiking the Finger Lakes and Thousand Islands regions, and visiting waterfalls wherever she can find them. Over the years, she’s tackled section hikes of the Appalachian and Mountains-to-Sea Trails and climbed nearly every lighthouse in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
Andy’s other passions include supporting art galleries and local artists across the Carolinas, visiting wineries, and giving back through her church, Grace Church Cathedral in Charleston, and Samaritan’s Purse.
Now, as a new resident of Bermuda Run, Andy is excited to meet her neighbors and build connections in the community. She’s looking forward to relearning golf, discovering new hobbies, and making the most of her next chapter in Davie County.
