July is all about holidays, celebrations and vacations!  Our country celebrates our independence on July 4th with cook outs, fireworks and baseball games. Fun celebrations with family and friends are at the top of the list. Fly your American flag proudly.  It is a symbol of the freedom, sacrifice, and unity that has shaped our nation’s history. The dog days of summer are upon us with hot temperatures and lots of days at the swimming pools with children.  July is National Ice Cream Month, so enjoy plenty of visits to the ice cream store this month, or even better, make some homemade ice cream and enjoy that special taste which no store bought ice cream can match.
   This month’s recipe is Teriyaki Chicken Strips.  The marinade may also be used for roasts, steaks and pork loins.  You may grill the chicken or cook it in the oven.  If you are cooking gluten free, I have included the substitutions I prefer in parentheses.
