Swinging for a Cause: Join the Charity Classic Golf Tournament in Support of Habitat for Humanity Davie County

Golf enthusiasts and philanthropists alike are gearing up for the much-anticipated Charity Classic Golf Tournament, and this year, Habitat for Humanity Davie County is proud to be the recipient of the proceeds. The tournament, a hallmark event for community engagement, will take place at Bermuda Run East golf course, offering both seasoned players and beginners the chance to enjoy a day of friendly competition while supporting a great cause.

Supporting Habitat for Humanity Davie County
Habitat for Humanity is an international non-profit organization known for its dedication to providing workforce housing for families in need. The organization’s mission is simple: to build homes, communities, and hope. The organization’s local chapter, Habitat for Humanity Davie County, has been active in the region for over a decade, helping transform the lives of families in need by providing them with safe and affordable housing.
The Charity Classic Golf Tournament, set for September 13th, provides a unique opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to come together and support Habitat for Humanity’s mission. As this year’s designated beneficiary, Habitat for Humanity Davie County will use the proceeds from the tournament to continue their work in building homes and improving the lives of families in the county.
“We are incredibly excited to be the recipient of this year’s Charity Classic Golf Tournament,” said Executive Director Jessie Folger, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Davie County.  “This event will help us raise crucial funds to build more homes for families who need them, and we are so grateful to the tournament host Bermuda Run Country Club, Davie Women’s Auxiliary and future sponsors who are making this possible.”

A Fun Day on the Green
The Charity Classic Golf Tournament is an eagerly awaited event each year, and this year promises to be no exception. The event will take place at Bermuda Run Country Club East, a picturesque course known for its challenging holes and beautiful landscape. The tournament will feature a day of golf, complete with prizes, raffles, and fun activities for all participants.
Whether you’re an avid golfer or a casual participant, the tournament offers a great opportunity to enjoy a round of golf at a typically private course, while giving back to the community.  Teams will be made up of four players, and there will be a hole-in-one contest, longest drive challenge, and closest-to-the-pin opportunities throughout the course.
In addition to the tournament itself, there will be an awards ceremony, where winners will receive prizes donated by local businesses and sponsors. After the round, participants will enjoy a celebratory reception with food, drinks, and the traditional ball drop, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and support for Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
“We’re really excited to be involved in this year's Charity Classic golf tournament   while supporting such a worthy cause,” said Sue Whittaker, Co-chair Davie Women’s Auxiliary “It is incredible to see the community come together in this way, and we’re looking forward to a really successful event this year.”

The Impact of Your Participation
Money raised during the tournament will go directly toward Habitat for Humanity Davie County’s ongoing efforts to build homes for deserving families. The need for workforce housing in the region has never been greater, and Habitat for Humanity plays a pivotal role in addressing this challenge. With rising housing costs and an increasing demand for affordable homes, the funds raised from the Charity Classic Golf Tournament will help make a meaningful difference.
“We’ve seen firsthand how homeownership can transform a family’s life,” said Jessie Folger “Our mission is to ensure that every family has the opportunity to live in a safe, and affordable home. The support from this event will allow us to continue to repair and build more homes helping more families achieve the dream of homeownership.”
Since its inception, Habitat for Humanity Davie County has helped dozens of families find stability and security through building or repairing housing. The organization also provides financial education, homeownership counseling, a critical repair program and support services to ensure that families have the tools they need to succeed long after they move into their new homes. The funds raised through the Charity Classic Golf Tournament will directly support these initiatives, as well as ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the importance of affordable housing in the region.

A Call to Action
For those looking to participate, the Charity Classic Golf Tournament offers several ways to get involved. Individuals can sign up as players, and companies can sponsor holes or donate items for the raffle. Volunteers are also needed to assist with event logistics and help make the day run smoothly. “The Davie Women’s Auxiliary hopes to have around 30 volunteers for this year's event, Whittaker added.”  The event organizers encourage everyone in the community to get involved and show their support for Habitat for Humanity Davie County.
“We believe that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home,” said Executive Director, Folger. “This event is a wonderful way for our community to come together and make a lasting impact on the lives of our neighbors. We’re looking forward to a great day on the course, and we hope to see many familiar faces joining us to make this event a success.”
