A Recipe for Love

Happy February! February is the traditional month of love.  Many people celebrate with chocolates, flowers, cards and heart shaped treats.  Valentine’s Day was an exciting time for my kindergarteners and first graders.  They loved making valentines and giving them to special friends.  The ones that had a sucker or candy attached were some of their favorites.  All the giggles from the girls who received Valentine cards from the boys was a sweet memory.  For some reason, the boys were not as interested in who gave them the Valentine. They just looked for the candy.    Days begin to lengthen and some early flowers like crocuses start to appear. Could it be that spring is around the corner?
This month’s recipe is Strawberry Cream Pie.   Strawberries and chocolate are one of my favorite duos.  This strawberry pie blends bright strawberries with a rich chocolatey crust.   It is a no bake dessert perfect for Valentine’s Day. It is easy to prepare and quick to assemble.  If you are making it gluten free, I have included in parentheses the brands I prefer. Share your love with someone special by making a homemade treat.  It never needs to be complicated because the thought and love put into it is what always counts.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Blessings,
