Rock to Rebuild

A Benefit Concert for Home Repair Work in WNC

You are invited to attend a benefit concert to help those who suffered significant storm-related damage from Hurricane Helene. This work will help low-income or uninsured homeowners throughout Buncombe and Madison counties to rebuild.

Featuring Somewhat Petty — Asheville’s Tom Petty tribute band, ticket sales and donations will benefit Asheville Regional Coalitions for Home Repairs (ARCHR). ARCHR expanded its home repair services after the devastation to the region and is a collaboration of Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, Poder Emma, Community Action Opportunities and Mountain Housing Opportunities.

Somewhat Petty will perform at the Diana Wortham Theatre, at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, in downtown Asheville, Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m. This benefit concert is being presented by Allen Tate Beverly-Hanks Realtors to help people in need throughout WNC.

“In Western North Carolina, we are a family of neighbors, always willing to lend a hand to others in need,” says Neal Hanks, president, Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks Realtors and Biltmore Park resident.

Enjoy the incredible music of rock legend Tom Petty while raising much-needed funding for home repair in our community in the aftermath of Helene. This event is sponsored in part by Stroll Biltmore Park, Stroll Biltmore Forest and The Ramble magazines.

Helping people in WNC rebuild their homes and have a place to call home is so meaningful. “Our mission at Stroll is to create more community and connection and Rock to Rebuild shows the power of people coming together to make a difference.”

A good time for a good cause! Ticket prices are $80 for general admission or $100 for VIP seats in the first two rows. Limited VIP tickets also include meeting the band on stage after the performance.

Lead singer/guitarist Damon Goldman, aka Tom, formed Somewhat Petty seven years ago and has performed at many venues across the Carolinas, including the Orange Peel, Grey Eagle, Ramkat, Radio Room, Altamont Theater, Ambrose West and LEAF Festivals. Damon and his wife, Gaia, are a team of real estate brokers with Allen Tate Beverly-Hanks Realtors and live in Biltmore Park.

“We as a band had been planning a benefit concert for Habitat since June. We love our hometown and wanted a way to give back. Then Helene hit and the need grew exponentially. I approached my Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks family with the idea of a fundraiser, and they were all in! Helping our community runs deep in our company culture. Allen Tate/Beverly-Hanks generously donated $10,000 to ARCHR and became our presenting sponsor. The band is over the moon to be a part of this collective effort to make a difference!”

Ariane Kjellquist, communications director for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, says "we are so grateful for Somewhat Petty and Allen Tate Beverly-Hanks REALTORS for hosting this concert that will bring people together for some great music in support for ARCHR's long-term rebuilding efforts. It is community efforts like this that will help more neighbors have a place to call home and help the Asheville region recover and thrive again."
