Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi, my name is Cece and I am 13 years old and a rising 8th grader. I have two younger siblings, Penelope and Alfie. I really enjoy playing soccer, swimming for the Biltmore Park Stingrays and going to Burn Boot Camp with my mom!
What made you decide to join your mom for workouts?
With soccer practice not being every day, I decided to join my mom at Burn to stay in shape in between and during my soccer season!
What’s an activity outside of the gym that you like doing with your mom?
I enjoy pickleball and tennis, baking and going to farmers’ markets!
What do you enjoy most when it comes to working out with your mom?
I love how if I get lost, I know I can always ask her for help! I really enjoy getting to be partners with my mom at the gym and getting to work out next to her!
Dr. Erica Manogue
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m an OB/GYN, a mom to three amazing kids, and a dedicated fitness enthusiast. I grew up playing tennis and like to think I am a lifelong athlete. I am constantly finding ways to integrate health and wellness into every aspect of my life and seeing the world in an active way.
What made you join Burn Boot Camp?
I have several friends who go to Burn and love it, so I went to a camp and I was immediately hooked. The trainers encourage everyone to challenge themselves, and the whole Burn community lifts each other up. The other fun part is I don’t have to think about what workout I am doing because I have a great trainer telling me what to do, and they always have the best playlists!
What do you enjoy most when it comes to working out with your daughter?
I love working out with Cece because we get to have some nice screen-free one-on-one time. We have to put our phones down and get to burn some stress and have fun and encourage each other.
What do you want your daughter to learn from seeing you work out consistently?
Discipline to show up consistently, commitment to a routine, and resilience to get back up again and keep moving during challenging times. These are qualities I want her to use in her life outside of the gym. We are so lucky to have healthy bodies we are able to use and move every day, and I want her to remember that.
