Canon's Closet
and Bridgewater neighbors who help!
Neighbors on Hidden Heights in Bridgewater I donated items to Canon’s Closet, a fully-stocked, large pantry containing items for abandoned children and pets, launched by the Ridgeland Police Department.
The closet is named in honor of K-9 Officer Canon and in memory of his handler, Sergeant Ray Daniels, who passed away in July 2022. Items inside the closet include diapers, pull-ups, baby wipes non-perishable food and drink items, blankets, hygiene items, coloring books, crayons, toys, stuffed animals, books, clothing, as well as cat and dog food.
The Bridgewater project was spearheaded by Nell & Vic Wyatt, who have been residents on the street for fifteen years. They left copies of the article and a personal note at each resident’s home. They send their appreciation to all who left toys, food, clothes and money at their front door. These collected items were then taken to the Police Station.
