JACK. Porch Sittin’, Lake Jumpin’, and Ridin’ Shotgun.
Hey y’all. I’m Jack.
And I’ve got to tell you… this life I’ve got now? It’s better than anything I ever imagined.
A porch where I keep watch.
A lake in my backyard.
A dock I can jump off… again and again.
A dock I can jump off… again and again.
A truck to ride in.
My people close by.
And my dad right there with me.
My people close by.
And my dad right there with me.
That’s my favorite part.
Sometimes I sit there and take it all in. And I think… how’d I get so lucky?
I don’t take any of it for granted.
A Second Chance
I didn’t always have a life like this.
Before I found my family, I spent a lot of time in a crate. There was a lot of waiting. A lot of quiet. I was alone most of the time.
But then the Morgans arrived.
They worked with Adopt a Golden to find just the right dog. Not a puppy. A red golden. A male. One who needed a home.
That’s how they found me.
And just like that, everything changed.
My Dad (and a Dog Named Rusty)
Now, I love everybody in my family. I really do.
But my dad, Jarrod? That’s my guy.
This part matters.
My dad had a dog growing up named Rusty. A red golden, just like me. He had him from the time he was in kindergarten all the way through growing up. The kind of dog you don’t forget.
So when they told Adopt a Golden they were looking for a red golden, not a puppy… well, I think I know why.
And when my dad saw me, I think he saw a little bit of Rusty again.
I think I was meant to find him.
He says he just wanted a dog to eat boiled peanuts with, watch baseball, and listen to country music.
Can you believe it? Turns out those are my favorite things too.
Life on the Lake
We live in Blackridge on the lake, and I’ve got one rule.
If there’s water… I’m in it.
Doesn’t matter the weather. Doesn’t matter the time of day. If I see it, I’m going.
It’s part of the dream.
Part of the Family Business
Now here’s something I still don’t quite understand, but I think it’s pretty neat.
I get to go to work with my dad at Tuff Dog Coatings and Morgan Muscle Cars.
I walk around, say hello, check on everyone, and make sure things are running smoothly. I’ve even got my own treat bin, thanks to my mom. She’s pretty awesome too.
And somehow… my face ended up on the trucks.
The trucks. The trailers. Even their shirts. My face!
I still can’t believe it.
One time I heard some kids say, “Wait… Jack is real?!”
I didn’t know what to think about that.
But I’ll tell you this… it’s pretty amazing!
The Good Stuff
I like a lot of things.
Riding in the truck.
Cruising on the golf cart.
Sitting on the porch.
Going to the brewery.
Eating crawfish. Yes crawfish!
Watching baseball.
Listening to country music.
Cruising on the golf cart.

Watching baseball.
Listening to country music.
And boiled peanuts. Definitely boiled peanuts.
But my favorite thing?
Just being with my dad.
Wherever he is, that’s where I want to be.
Just Happy to Be Here
If you spend a little time with me, you’ll probably notice I’m a pretty happy dog.
I like people. I like being part of things. I like making sure nobody feels like they’re alone.
I think when you’ve had a quiet start like mine, you learn to appreciate the good stuff.
And this life?
It’s better than I ever imagined.
Sometimes I think about how it all worked out… how I found my way here, to this family, to my dad.
And I wonder if maybe, in some small way, a dog named Rusty had something to do with it.
If you see me around Blackridge, come say hi.
I’ll probably be on the porch… or in the water.
Most likely both.
