The Colcord’s are a lively and dedicated family who have made Brookhaven their cherished home. Comprising of Billy, Melissa, and their two delightful children, Carsten (7) and Isabela (5), along with their beloved pets, a mini schnauzer named Zoe and a cat named Meeko, the Colcord’s embody the spirit of community and family values.

Billy, a true Normanite, and Melissa, originally from Ponca City, found their forever home in Brookhaven during the tumultuous pandemic of May 2020. Their story began 13 years ago on a dating website, leading to a strong marriage founded on faith and stability.

 

Together for 12 years and married for 9, their bond has only grown stronger with time. How did Melissa know Billy was “the one?” "I knew Billy was the one after our first date. He made me laugh, and everything was just easy—carefree and fun. I remember calling my mom that evening and telling her he was the man I was going to marry." Billy shared a similar sentiment, saying, "We just vibed on so many levels. It was one of those 'Wow, this is amazing and really happening' situations. From our first conversation, we knew 'this is my person.'"

 

In addition to their extracurricular activities, the kids run an educational YouTube channel called "Carbeli." A fun combination of the two names: Carsten and Isabla, Carbeli has close to 13,000 subscribers with their videos having more than 6 million views worldwide.

 

Billy plays a central role in the videos, while Melissa handles the filming. The channel offers quality educational and fun content for children, covering topics like animals, good habits, and the joys of childhood. The Colcord’s started the channel to do fun things with their kids and make a difference in other children's lives. Melissa shared, "There is so much dangerous content out there, and as a parent, it's frightening. Knowing that we can provide fun, positive content is extremely rewarding." They are also working on a new channel, "Carbeli Family," and exploring ways to provide their content in different languages to reach kids internationally.

 

When not filming, the family of four enjoys attending OKC baseball games, playing at their neighborhood park, visiting the zoo, and swimming in their pool. They love traveling, especially their annual 4th of July trips to Branson and spring break cruises. An interesting fact about their Colcord history is that Billy's uncle, Charles Francis Colcord, built the historic Colcord Hotel in downtown OKC and was the first sheriff in Oklahoma, a history they proudly share with their kids.

 

Both Billy and Melissa have full-time jobs outside of running "Carbeli." Billy works as a Wholesale Parts Coordinator at Fowler Automotive, while Melissa is the Director of Association Management at Aria Real Estate Group. They are also both REALTORS® at ARIA Real Estate Group, enjoying the process of helping people buy and sell homes.

 

Their biggest passion is spending quality time with their kids. However, when they find a break in their busy schedule, they love to visit their favorite vacation spot in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, where they were married in 2015. They also enjoy date nights at the local movie theater and support local charities, including St. Jude.

 

"St. Jude gives children the best medical care and opportunity to get better, and we just try to give as much as we can to help ease the burden that families have to endure," Melissa explained.

 

Living in Brookhaven has been a dream come true for Billy, who always wanted to raise a family in this vibrant community. The family loves the old trees, unique homes, and the neighborhood park. They cherish the sense of community and the special events, like Halloween and Christmas lights displays, that make Brookhaven a magical place to live.
