Meet the Heideman Family!
Introducing Ann Marie, Judd Heideman, Elise, and Zoe: A breath of Southern fresh air

The Heideman family has quickly become a beloved part of the community since moving to the neighborhood just a year and a half ago. With their Southern roots, academic achievements, and growing family, Ann Marie, Judd, and their daughters, Elise and Zoe, have embraced the Winston-Salem lifestyle with open hearts.
Ann Marie and Judd’s love story began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they met through their church. Their friendship, built on shared runs, blossomed into romance by their junior year. After tying the knot, the couple spent six formative years in Nashville, Tennessee, where they welcomed their daughters, Elise and Zoe.
Now settled in Winston-Salem, the Heidemans eagerly anticipate their third daughter's arrival in May 2025. The family wouldn’t be complete without Lasso, their rescue dog, a mix of Australian cattle dog and lab, described as “100 percent sweetness” with a unique talent for singing "Happy Birthday."
Accomplished Professionals
Ann Marie and Judd are both highly accomplished in their fields. Ann Marie is a manager at Nissan’s corporate headquarters, leading market research initiatives. Judd, a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist, specializes in lung cancer diagnosis.
Traditions and Hobbies
The Heideman household is full of energy and activity. Elise and Zoe participate in swimming, soccer, and gymnastics. Elise enjoys baking and arts and crafts, while Zoe loves composing her own songs. The family frequently enjoys outdoor activities like biking, snuggling up with books, and dancing together. Inspired by their love for exercise, Ann Marie and Judd set an example for their kids. Judd is an avid pickleball player and enjoys pickup volleyball, while Ann Marie loves running, exercising, and painting when she can find the time.
Family traditions hold special meaning for the Heidemans. Honoring Ann Marie’s Italian heritage, they bake Italian cookies and attempt the Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes. Birthdays are celebrated with a playful tradition: a wake-up call of balloons dumped on the honoree’s head.
Community and Volunteering
The Heidemans have fully embraced their new community. They love the neighborhood's walkability and sense of togetherness, exploring its hidden gems—often with a popsicle in hand.
Their commitment to fostering personal growth is evident in their practice of one-on-one parent-child dates, allowing each child dedicated time with a parent to strengthen communication and bonds.
The family is also deeply involved in their local church, Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, and is beginning to volunteer with Our Lady of Salem Women’s Shelter. They’re exploring ways to collaborate with Catholic Charities to give back to the community and share the blessings they’ve received.
With their diverse interests, strong family values, and enthusiasm for their new home, the Heideman family has brought fresh energy and Southern charm to the neighborhood, enriching the community with their presence.
