In 2014, after years of traveling with Texas Instruments, Matt Muse was ready to settle down when he was relocated—again—to Houston. For months his friends, Cody, had been trying to introduce Matt to a friend of Cody’s wife, Cassie. At the same time, Julie, a UT Health-Houston student pursuing her master’s to become a nurse practitioner, had been told by her friend, Cassie, about Cody’s friend Matt.  Meanwhile, both Julie and Matt tried online dating after urging from friends. They connected online and met for dinner—it was love at first sight!  On the day of their second date, Cassie asked Julie who she was going to dinner with.  Julie told Cassie his name was Matt Muse.  Cassie said, “JULIE, THAT’S THE GUY we’ve been trying to introduce you to!” It was meant to be: Matt and Julie married on April 18, 2015.

 

Both Matt and Julie are native Texans—Julie from Corpus Christi and Matt from Terrell. Julie attended Morningside College in Iowa on a softball scholarship, earning a bachelor’s in biology and chemistry, then went on to complete her BS in Nursing at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and a master’s as a Nurse Practitioner at UT Health-Houston. Matt graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Electrical Engineering and spent 13 years at Texas Instruments, traveling worldwide while gaining experience in both the technical and business sides of operations.

 

In 2016, TI relocated the Muse’s to North Texas. Familiar with the Rockwall/Heath area from growing up in Terrell, Matt and Julie first considered buying acreage but changed their minds after seeing a home on Signature Court with a stunning golf course view. Julie toured it first and knew it was perfect. Matt agreed and they became Buffalo Creek residents in July 2016.

 

Daughter Clara, 8, is a third grader at Vandermont private school in Royse City. She loves art class and anything to do with horses. Reading is also a favorite subject and past-time. Clara has twice received the school’s Spirit Award for embodying love, patience, joy, and kindness. An outdoor enthusiast, she has been taking equestrian lessons for over a year and absolutely loves it.

 

Henry is 6 and a first grader at Vandermont who enjoys both math and reading. He’s learning baseball with his dad and hopes to join a team soon. The two also like to share time on the golf course. Like the rest of the family, Henry loves the outdoors—hunting and fishing are among his favorites. He is proud to have caught his first cutthroat trout on a family trip to Wyoming this past summer. Henry is lready looking forward to dove and deer hunting, and, like many boys, he’s fascinated by cars, trucks, and anything with wheels or a remote control.

 

William, who just turned 2, is affectionately known as the family’s “little pistol.” The youngest, he makes sure he’s heard! He attends The da Vinci School in Dallas, loves trips to the zoo, and sports a blond mullet that perfectly matches his lively personality.

 

Julie is now a stay-at-home mom after several years at the Sparks Clinic with the beloved Dr. Bob Sparks. Matt left TI in 2019 to pursue real estate investment, focusing on beauty care salon suites across the Metroplex. He has also partnered with fellow Buffalo Creek resident Spencer Suggs to launch Casa Construction, a premier roofing and construction company. The couple realized their dream of owning land with a ranch in southeast Oklahoma that they call their family’s “happy place”, visiting two to three times a month to enjoy the outdoors, old-school country music, and classic movies. Active members of The Gathering Church in Rockwall, Julie and Matt enjoy an occasional date night at a favorite Dallas restaurant or one of their local favorites like Bin 303 and The Oar House.

 

For nearly 10 years, Julie and Matt have loved calling Buffalo Creek home—a community they cherish as the perfect place to raise their family. Here’s to many more years of memories and happiness for the Muse family on Signature
