We welcome one of our newest Buffalo Creek families to the neighborhood! The Macias Family, Daniel, Erica and their kids Ethan (11), Cami (9) and Vera (5) moved to their home on Siesta Circle in October, 2024. Erica grew up in the Waxahachie area while Daniel was raised on the other side of the Metroplex in the Eagle Mountain Lake area. They met in 2007 through mutual friends while attending the University of North Texas. The connection went further when they realized their high schools often competed against each other in sports. Married in 2009, the couple settled in the Fort Worth side of the Metroplex.

 

Daniel graduated with a BA in Economics from UNT and went on to earn his MBA from the University of Texas Dallas. He began his professional career with Fidelity Investments and has been with them ever since. Erica earned her BS in Education from UNT and taught kindergarten for a number of years. When Ethan came along in 2014, Erica decided to become a stay-at-home mom. Cami came along two years later and Vera in 2019. Now that Vera is in kindergarten, Erica returned to her career and is teaching 4th grade reading and writing in the RISD.

 

All of the kids attend First Baptist Academy in Dallas, along with 17 of their cousins! Ethan is in the 5th grade, loves math and, like his dad, all things to do with numbers. Ethan is also following in Daniel’s footsteps with his love for golf. He started swinging a club when he was just 2 years old and is now a golfer for Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf. Ethan’s athleticism doesn’t end with golf. He also enjoys basketball and is playing on his school’s spring flag football team.

 

Daughter Cami (Camille) is a third grader and is described by her parents as artistic—she loves arts & crafts, drawing and painting; fashion-minded—she has her own style without the girlie-girl flair; and is a leader among family and friends. Cami is also athletic, currently doing gymnastics at ASI Rockwall. She just finished basketball season and is playing volleyball this spring. Cami is well-rounded. Aside from being creative and athletic, Cami’s favorite school subject is math. Cami is also credited with naming their 2 year old Golden Retriever, Ranger, after the Texas Rangers.

 

Erica and Daniel describe 5 year old Vera as confident, energetic and joyful.  Although just in kindergarten, Vera seems to have friends in every grade and class! She is a quick learner and is already reading above her level. Like her brother and sister, Vera is showing signs of athleticism, doing gymnastics with her sister at ASI and playing soccer. She was also on the junior cheerleading squad at First Baptist this year and can’t wait for it to start up again in the fall.

 

Weekends for the Macias family are filled with games and golf tournaments. Family time is also filled with bike rides, exploring hiking trails in Rockwall, and just about any outdoor activity. Entertaining family and friends is a frequent occurrence, with Daniel at the grill and guests poolside enjoying the backyard. They also love to travel with ski trips a family favorite. This summer they will be trading in their skis for sun and sand with a trip to Hawaii.

 

The family decided to move closer to Erica’s large extended family on the eastern side of the Metroplex when Daniel began working remotely. They took notice of Buffalo Creek while renting a home on Tubbs and Torrey Pines. Daniel loved the golf course and Erica loved being near the water. They found their home on Siesta Circle and knew it was the right fit and the perfect neighborhood for their family.  We extend a warm welcome to the Macias family and wish them many years and memories right here in Buffalo Creek.
