Meet Your Neighbors....Hussain and April Fayad

Like many modern couples, April and Hussain Fayad met online in August 2022 and soon agreed to meet in person at the Brass Tap at the Harbor. Hussain, a self-taught musician in his spare time, was performing at an open mic night. Though they don’t consider it their first date, they talked late into the night before going on their official first date—for sushi—shortly after. They’ve been together ever since, marrying at her sister’s farm the day before Thanksgiving in 2023 and buying their first home together in Buffalo Creek in early 2024.

The Fayads are a blended family of five. April has two sons, Rylee (22) and Ryder (19), who both work for their dad, owner of NTX Electric in Wylie—Rylee as a journeyman and Ryder as an electrician apprentice. Last August, Rylee and his girlfriend, Ashtyn, welcomed a son, Rhett, and recently bought their first home in Lavon. Another milestone in the making, Ashtyn will graduate in May from Dallas Baptist University. Hussain has a 7-year-old daughter, Maya, who loves to do arts & crafts and gymnastics.

Hussain was born in Lebanon and moved to the U.S. in 1994 with his family to escape the dangerous instability of the Middle East region. His family lived in several cities, including New York and Nashville, before settling in Houston. After high school, Hussain played semi-pro football and later walked on at Sam Houston University. A career-ending injury led him to consider going out in the work world. However, the job market was a challenge so instead, in 2011, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for four years and traveled extensively.

After his military service, Hussain worked in the oil fields before joining Tamko Building Products in Dallas and living in Chandlers Landing.  During his eight years with Tamko, best known for its shingle manufacturing, he also took on side jobs like fence staining, power washing and other related services. In 2023, after extensive consideration, he launched Patriot Roofing and Staining with April’s support. Now in its third year, the business is growing, with 50–60 roofs annually, and expansion into commercial work.

April, a North Texas native, raised Rylee and Ryder in Wylie, where she spent years supporting their baseball pursuits. She worked at a Pre-K school while they were young, then spent 13 years as an RDA (registered dental assistant) at Gentle Dental in Rockwall before retiring in January. After moving to Buffalo Creek, she began renovating their Majestic Court home, showcasing her natural talent for creative and beautiful interior design.

Hussain and April love traveling both internationally and across the U.S., with favorite destinations that include Italy, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, and domestic spots like Boston, Big Sky, and Sedona, where they celebrated their first anniversary. Hussain handles booking the flights and hotels, while April plans the daily details—from excursions to restaurants, even a planned stop at Taco Bell along Highway 1 in Big Sur, considered the most beautiful Taco Bell in the country for its scenic view of the Pacific Ocean!  Closer to home, they love going to concerts (Chris Stapleton is a favorite) and enjoy date nights at favorite Rockwall spots like Yuzu, Manny’s, and Gloria’s.

In 2024, the Fayads toured seven homes in one day; the house on Majestic Court was the first—and only one that got a second look. Drawn to Buffalo Creek, they’ve used Hussain’s construction skills and April’s design eye to create a warm, inviting home. Last July, they welcomed Ralph, a Toy Australian Shepherd puppy, to their family. Hussain and April love Buffalo Creek’s amenities, convenience, and welcoming neighbors—many who have become friends—and look forward to many happy years in the neighborhood.
