Wade and Lexi Bennett and their three children – Beau, Blake and Bella

Wade and Lexi Bennett’s love story began on a blind date—but not with each other. After moving back to North Texas from North Carolina, Lexi agreed to a blind date and asked a friend to stay nearby. As she walked into the bar, Lexi met Wade where they struck up a conversation before her date arrived a few minutes later. It took less than 10 minutes for Lexi to know her date wasn’t a match. She left to meet her friend on the patio, where she unexpectedly ran into Wade again. This time they talked for hours. The next morning they met for breakfast—and they’ve been together ever since, with an engagement proposal on December 26, 2019 that involved a carriage ride in Highland Park Village and a wedding on July 4, 2020 in Lexi’s hometown of Kilgore.

Lexi grew up in Kilgore, and it is said that she could dance before she could walk! Dancing throughout her childhood, Lexi pursued her passion at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, earning her BFA in Dance in 2015. She went on to dance with the Charlotte Ballet before returning to North Texas in 2018 to teach dance and yoga in Plano.

Wade is a Heath local whose family lived in Buffalo Creek during his childhood. A 2012 graduate of Rockwall Heath High School, Wade played baseball in junior college before attending Texas State University and eventually transferring to the University of Texas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Business Administration in 2016. While in school and following graduation, Wade spent six years working for a sports agency, traveling with the PGA Tour and managing players. In 2020, he moved to Fort Worth to join Stryker Orthopedics, where he sells medical devices for trauma orthopedic patients.

After their wedding, Wade and Lexi settled in Fort Worth where they lived for six years. Earlier this year, as Wade’s territory expanded to include the Mid-Cities and east to Greenville, the Bennetts began searching for a larger home, closer to family. After touring homes throughout Heath and Buffalo Creek, they found their perfect home on White Buffalo. Wade had his sights set on Buffalo Creek all along, and Lexi immediately fell in love with the neighborhood. The Bennett family officially became Buffalo Creek residents in May 2026.

Five-year-old Beau started kindergarten at Pullen Elementary this year. Energetic, inquisitive, kind, and athletic like his dad, he loves flag football, baseball, and just about any game—especially if he can win! Despite his competitive spirit, Beau is a sweet and protective big brother to his two little sisters.

Three-year-old daughter Blake is a true girlie-girl with a big personality, nurturing spirit, and independent streak. Funny and a little quirky, she loves doing her own thing and being a big sister to baby Bella. This year, Blake will attend Pre-K in Sunnyvale alongside her cousins. Both Beau and Blake are enjoying the backyard pool where they’ve become confident swimmers this summer.

Baby Bella turned one on July 1 and is already winning hearts with her sweet, happy, and easygoing personality. As her personality begins to shine, she is adored by her big brother and sister. Beau and Blake are both obsessed with Bella and love spending time with her and helping care for their baby sister.

As busy parents of three young children, Wade and Lexi devote most of their free time to family. Wade enjoys coaching Beau’s flag football and T-ball teams and has introduced him to golf, often taking him along when he golfs Buffalo Creek Golf Course. Friday nights are “Tex-Mex night,” with family favorites like Manny’s and Chiloso followed by pool or movie night at home. For date night, you will often find Wade and Lexi enjoying a quiet evening at The Oar House. Since moving to Buffalo Creek, the Bennetts have been attending Lake Point Church, where Wade attended as a child.

We welcome the Bennett family to Buffalo Creek, along with their fur-baby Lyla, a 10 year old sheltie/retriever mix Lexi rescued while living in Charlotte, and wish them all many years of happiness, laughter, and treasured memories in their new home and community
