On historic Main Street in Hudson, Ohio, is a women’s boutique that has become a treasured destination for locals and tourists alike. The boutique’s owners are sisters Carrie Cronkey and Emily Westlake, who moved to Hudson as kids in 1989 and later graduated from Hudson High School. After years away, both Carrie and Emily recently returned home to raise their children and be close to their family. Carrie, along with her husband and three children, settled into the beautiful Deer Hollow neighborhood. Emily, along with her husband and two children, moved back to the street where she grew up.

For Carrie, returning home and moving to Deer Hollow has been a dream. She enjoys the neighborhood’s beauty and the paths that lead to Hudson Springs Park. She also enjoys taking her Bernedoodles, Chief and Cruz, out for walks- although occasionally they take themselves on “self-walks” to visit their neighborhood doggy friends!

Carrie has a background in consumer technology, marketing, and e-commerce, including her most recent role as CMO of Life360. As for Emily, her background is in publishing, encompassing primarily editorial roles. Both women were working remotely in summer of 2023 when they learned about an open storefront in a historic building on Main Street that had been home to a boutique since 1959. They decided that this was an exciting opportunity. Within weeks, they were seeking mentors, signing a lease, and flying to New York to purchase inventory.

Favorite Sister focuses on elevated everyday basics, the building blocks of a wardrobe that make getting dressed feel effortless. Shoppers will find small, artistic brands with interesting color combinations, European flair, and thoughtful details. The goal is to help customers create functional, fun wardrobes while telling the stories behind the designers.

The boutique has a unique multi-generational appeal to mothers, daughters, and grandmothers as well as sisters, biological or chosen. Even Carrie and Emily’s own mother occasionally works in the store, affectionately known to customers as “Favorite Mom.” Carrie and Emily feel passionate about the community they create through their boutique, as well as giving back to the surrounding Hudson community by supporting initiatives like after-prom events, school fundraisers, and local sports teams.
