Empowering Futures, One Village at a Time

Discover how Lalumwe’s innovative approach transforms lives with sustainable solutions in health and education.

Hello, Caughlin Ranch Community!

This is Taylor from the Davis family, and I’m thrilled to introduce an inspiring organization to our neighborhood through a longtime friend and fellow Sierra Nevada University in Incline Village graduate, Trever Mann. Trever and I graduated together in 2019, and since then, he’s become an integral part of Reno, working in finance for a tech startup downtown and setting roots in north Reno.

Recently, Trever stepped into the role of Executive Director of U.S. Operations for Lalumwe, a nonprofit dedicated to opening access to poverty-ending opportunities for millions of families in rural Sub-Saharan Africa. Trever is deeply committed to creating meaningful, lasting change, aligning closely with Lalumwe’s mission to empower families to shape their future by providing sustainable, village-specific improvements to health and education.

An overwhelming number of families who live in rural areas lack access to basic human needs such as clean water, food, and healthcare – making the cycle of poverty impossible to break. Lalumwe’s unique approach, the “Poverty-To-Prosperity Model,” comprehensively transforms health and education issues, village by village, with projects like solar-powered wells, community gardens, ultrasound programs, and upgrades to schools and health clinics. These improvements free families from living in survival mode so they can develop livelihoods that lift them out of poverty. As we enter the new year, I invite you to help bring hope and resources to communities that need it most. A donation to Lalumwe can directly fund our ultrasound program to support safe deliveries for mothers, a solar-powered well, or a community farm—each gift has the power to transform lives. Please join me in making a difference this year by supporting Lalumwe’s mission.
