4th Annual Cars of Chateau Event Raises Over $95,000 to Help Military Veterans

The Chateau Elan Military Support Foundation (CEMSF) in partnership with Chateau Elan Winery & Resort hosted the 4th Annual Charity Cars of Chateau event on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

The event showcased an amazing display of 190 classic, exotic, muscle, and race cars from every era, drawing in over 1,000 attendees. This remarkable gathering of automotive enthusiasts and supporters helped to raise over $95,000, with proceeds directly benefiting North Georgia military veterans and their families in need.

The event wouldn't have been possible without the support of over 80 dedicated volunteers from the local area. A special thank you goes to the dedicated Chateau Elan residents who form the Cars of Chateau committee. This incredible group dedicated an immense amount of time and effort to bring this event to life. Gratitude goes to Jeff and Rene Oldham, Tom Reichert, Leigh Ann Paugh, Jon Spangler, David Weigand, Sue Wyatt, Mindy Pajak, Diana Smith, Jan and Steve Harrison, Lynn and Dan Everitt, Ray Pastoric, Linda Miller, Russell Coolman, Mimi Schlenker, Kent Hochgertle, Alan Kloor, Ray Stanley, and Alan Boe.

The event featured a spectacular air show by the popular Full Throttle air show and fly-over Formation Team and the talented Malachi Mills, a standout from Season 19 of American Idol, who performed live throughout the day. Food trucks, a silent auction, and a new kid zone added to the day’s excitement.

18 prestigious awards were presented to registered cars, including first and second place in 7 Class Awards in addition to 4 Choice Awards. Resident, Alan Boe won the Chateau Elan Choice Award with his 1959 Austin Healey and resident, Peter Rudnick, won second place in the Foreign Cars Built after 2010 with his 2017 Porsche Turbo S.

Since its inception in 2019, the Chateau Elan Military Support Foundation has successfully raised over $400,000 to provide essential support to our local heroes. These contributions have played a crucial role in addressing basic needs, such as food, clothing, financial assistance, housing support, and vital mental health services. In addition, CEMSF has proudly collaborated with local veteran support organizations, including the Barrow County Veterans Resource Center, PTSD Foundation, Habitat of Gwinnett County, Gwinnett County One Stop for Help...Veterans and Family Services, and the Gary Sinise Foundation, to amplify its impact within the community.

The 4th Annual Charity Cars of Chateau event was a testament to the community's unwavering support for our military heroes. The Chateau Elan Military Support Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all attendees, sponsors, volunteers, and patrons who contributed to the event's success.
