What influenced you to choose to be a doctor? Always wanted to help others get better and medicine and health always appealed to me. I was always impressed with the doctors I saw when I was younger and I wanted to be like them.
What made you choose your specialty? Selected orthopedic surgery because it really aligned with my personal outlook. I want to help people get better by doing something about it.
Advice for aspiring doctors: Expose yourself to medicine as much as possible through research and volunteer work to ensure the rigorous training is truly the career path you wish to take. While in undergrad, expose yourself to a variety of classes and don't over-focus on sciences. Gregory majored in biology, but in retrospect, he wishes he had majored in economics or something more useful in the world outside of medicine. You can always use your electives to obtain the prerequisites for medical school.
Fun fact: Gregory and his family can frequently be found on the tennis courts at the sports club and love their annual vacation to Turks and Caicos.
