Chateau Residents help to raise $275,000
for the Northeast Georgia Medical Center NICU
The Laurel Classic was hosted back on May 17th by the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation. It was held at the Legends Golf Course with more than 40 sponsors, 50 teams, and lots of volunteers! The event raised over $275,000 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Braselton, which provides specialized care to infants in the region. The money raised will go toward the purchase of life-saving care and equipment.
The President of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton, Anthony Williamson, presented the guest speaker who talked to the crowd about her first-hand experience with not one but two children who were grateful to have the NICU facility right here in Braselton. Mayor Kurt Ward was at the tee-off ceremony of the two boys as they kicked off the start of the tournament.
Many of our Chateau Elan residents participated in various ways by planning, volunteering, sponsoring, and playing in the tournament. Residents Mike and Caryn McGarity co-chaired the event for the Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) Foundation. And Chateau residents on the committee consisted of Tony Funari, Hardy Johnson, Darcy Davidson, and Kathy Fauscett.
The first-place team included resident Jeff Wessels, the second-place team included residents Bob Holton and Charles Kleinschnitz, and the third-place team included resident Mark Still. The support of our residents for worthwhile causes never ceases to waiver. The support of the Chateau Elan community is appreciated greatly!
