Rotary Honors Hardy Johnson with Top Award at Year-End Gathering
The Rotary Club of Braselton wrapped up a successful year with a vibrant, poolside gathering at the home of Leigh Ann and Greg Paugh in Chateau Elan. The evening was a perfect blend of great food, fellowship, and celebration.
Members enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Branch House Tavern, featuring brisket, chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, along with an indulgent dessert spread. The relaxed setting offered time to connect, reflect on the past year, and, of course, snap a few memorable photos—including a spirited group shot.
This year’s Rotary Club was led by President Tracy Harris, whose leadership was celebrated during the evening. A special highlight of the night was when Harris presented longtime member and Chateau Elan resident Hardy Johnson with the Rotarian of the Year Award. Hardy’s commitment to the club and community, particularly his dedicated work securing insightful weekly speakers, has made a lasting impact. His encouragement and mentorship have inspired many, and this recognition was well-earned and warmly received. The evening also recognized the club's leadership transition, with heartfelt appreciation for those who served on the board.
Chateau Elan was well-represented at the celebration, with members including Michael Athanas, Amy Bell, Lee Bryan, Rekha Desai, Jim Edwards, Tony Funari, Theresa Huss, Hardy Johnson, Jim Joedecke, Leigh Ann Paugh, Jennifer Sims, Dennis Still, Ed Walls, and Sue Wyatt.
Looking ahead, the Rotary Club of Braselton is already planning one of its most anticipated events—the annual Reverse Raffle, scheduled for Friday, November 7th at the Braselton Civic Center. The event raises funds for local causes, including high school senior scholarships, the inclusive playground in Braselton, and other impactful community projects. If you're interested in supporting the event, be sure to reach out to one of your Chateau Elan Rotary neighbors for ticket information!
If you would like to join this group in serving the community, come to one of our weekly meetings at Papa Jack’s on Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m., or reach out to our Membership Coordinator, Leigh Ann Paugh, at 205-381-6659.
The evening served as a wonderful reminder of the strength of community, service, and friendship that defines the Rotary spirit.
