The Braselton Rotary Club Raises $17,000 to Help Fight Domestic Abuse
On May 6th, the Braselton Rotary Club held its 17th annual charity golf tournament and raised $17,000 for charity. This year's emphasis for donations was organizations that assist Domestic Abuse victims with food, shelter, education, protection, advice, and overall care. Among the recipients of 2022's Charity Golf proceeds were Peace Place and the Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV). Peace Place is in the process of building an overnight shelter in the vicinity where victims can have protection when they've vacated an abusive relationship. The PADV has operated for years assisting victims with many of the immediate needs that individuals and families experience as they attempt to break away from abuse.
Past years' recipients of golf tournament funds have included Eagle Ranch, iServe Ministries (meals), local food banks, the Salvation Army, Peace Place, NE GA Hospital (Braselton), and many others.
