Electrical Pros Shares Their Family Business
Jerry and Debbie are native Georgians. After they married, they moved to Snellville, and in 1995 they ended up in Dacula, where they have been since. They raised three children, Josh, Ben, and Candice, and now have six wonderful grandchildren who bring so much joy into their lives! The couple loves to spend time with their kids, grandkids, family, friends, and their two cats, Shadow and Leo.
Jerry has worked for several electrical companies over the years to gain a vast knowledge of the electrical service industry through a variety of experiences. He started with Burch Electric in 1977. Then he moved to Cofer Electric, focusing on new residential homes, Pruett Electric, mostly working on remodeling work in homes and commercial buildings, and Henderson Electric Company, concentrating on commercial work in office buildings, hospitals, and large commercial projects. While working, Jerry attended Dekalb Technical College and obtained an Electrical Technical Degree, and then went on to obtain his Non-Restricted Electrical License so that one day he would be able to start his own business.
With Jerry’s Technical Degree and Non-Restricted Electrical License in hand, along with Debbie’s work experience as an Assistant Underwriter for St. Paul Insurance, they decided to start their own business in 1985. This allowed them to work from home and take care of their two young children. Since their youngest son was sick quite a bit due to asthma, it was nice to have the flexibility.
Electrical Pros specializes in residential electrical service, repair, and installations. It is a family business that includes Jerry, Debbie, their son Josh, and grandson Cody. The company consists of nine employees that focus on giving their customers options and solutions for their residential projects. The team complies with the National Electrical Code for their customers' safety and protection. They have experience with a variety of electrical work, including new homes, new commercial tenant spaces, office spaces, daycare centers, as well as remodeling of the aforementioned. They can help you with your outlets, switches, lights, tv mounting/wiring, hot tub wiring, car charging outlet repairs, and so much more. They also work on electrical panels, sub-panels, meter repairs and installations, installation of safety devices/systems, safety inspections, and tune-ups.
When we asked the couple what advice they would offer to residents, they shared, “we recommend always using a licensed contractor for all of your mechanical jobs (i.e., electrical, heating and air conditioning, and plumbing) with good review ratings. Using a qualified, licensed, and insured company ensures that your home is done by the codes of that trade. This also saves time and stress, knowing your home is safe and up to code for your family if and when you decide to sell your home.”
The Ertleys love to give back to the community in various ways. A few of their focus areas include recycling reusable fixtures for Habitat for Humanity, contributing to the American Cancer Society, and being members of the Employers Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Electrical Pros also loves to support our community, as evidenced by attending the Inside the Gates/Stroll Chateau Elan 10-year celebration. Debbie expressed, “We were excited to see current and future customers come by our booth to say hello and learn more. We love working with the residents of Chateau Elan. Our goal is to provide you with quality service in hopes of making you a customer for life!”
