Cheryl Johnson Shares Her Vision for Street Grace

Cheryl Johnson

In 2008, Cheryl Johnson, the founding CEO of Street Grace, launched the organization during a time when the harsh reality of child trafficking was largely ignored. Thanks to the collective efforts of individuals, community organizations, and legislators, significant progress has been made in raising awareness and changing the lives of vulnerable children.

Since its inception, Street Grace, under Johnson's leadership, has led the fight against child sex trafficking, with the faith-based community providing steadfast support. Through advocacy, data collection, and legislative action, the organization has made substantial strides in protecting children’s rights in Georgia and beyond.

In collaboration with Microsoft, Street Grace has equipped law enforcement agencies with advanced technology to track and apprehend online predators targeting minors. The organization has also developed comprehensive training programs for middle and high school students, empowering them to protect themselves and their peers from online dangers.

Efforts continue to influence state and federal legislation, with a focus on strengthening protections against child exploitation. Despite the progress, much work remains. Engaging faith communities is essential in addressing the link between foster care systems and children’s vulnerability to trafficking. There is a pressing need to mobilize once more to advocate for transparency, improved data collection practices, and policy changes that prioritize the safety of at-risk youth.

Under Cheryl Johnson’s guidance, Street Grace stands at a critical juncture in this mission, equipping communities with the knowledge, resources, and strategies needed to champion children’s rights. Your participation and support are crucial as this vital work continues.

"On November 7, 2024, Street Grace is hosting an evening with Ernie Johnson, the award-winning host of Inside the NBA on TNT, and NBA legend and co-host Charles Barkley. This can't-miss event featuring two Hall of Famers will be a celebration of our collective efforts to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children and a powerful reminder of the impact we can make together. Mark your calendars and join this worthwhile cause!" Bob Rodgers, CEO.
