Saluting Our Veterans Event
On Sunday, July 27, the Chateau Elan military Support Foundation hosted over 250 friends and neighbors at Paddy’s Pub at Chateau Elan Winery for the Saluting Our Veterans event. The gathering honored the men and women who have served our country while shining a spotlight on programs and initiatives that support them.
Retired Colonel Alan Sims of the National Character Association inspired the audience with stories and insights, while the band Highway 211 kept spirits high with lively music. A moving flag retirement ceremony and a powerful rendition of the National Anthem by resident Diana Smith added to the day’s significance.
Foundation partners played an important role as well, including The Headstrong Project, the PTSD Foundation of America, and Docs Healing Hives—whose honey sales help fund their beekeeping vocational program for veterans. Local organizations such as North Georgia Hospital Hospice and In-Home Palliative Care also shared how they serve the community.
The day was a blend of reflection and celebration, reminding everyone of the sacrifices veterans have made and the ongoing efforts to support them.
A big thank you goes to neighbor and business owner Nicole Robinson with Gilat DataPath for sponsoring the event.
