Seth's Science Corner:
Antimatter 101: The Power of the Opposite
Welcome back to Seth's science corner! Today we are talking about what is antimatter and why is it important. Antimatter is a very simple matter, but with opposite charges. But what does that mean? Well, regular matter has a nucleus of protons with a positive charge, neutrons with no charge, and an outer cloud of electrons with a negative charge. Antimatter has the opposite of all of these, for example, instead of the protons being positive its negative. It's important because when antimatter interacts with regular matter, it detonates releasing energy and gamma rays. This could be used for an advanced form of energy generation but we don't know how yet. If discovered it would revolutionize power beyond even that of fusion power! This has been Seth's science corner!
