Caitlin Yancey of Caitlin Beth Skin Studio Shines Inside and Out

If you ask her how she got here, Caitlin Yancey would probably say she just followed her heart—and a few back roads that eventually led to Cohasset. But behind the calm confidence of a woman who makes others feel beautiful is a journey filled with reinvention, resilience, and a whole lot of heart.
Let’s rewind.
The Heart of the Business
When the pandemic hit, Caitlin was at a crossroads. The spa where she worked closed and she lost her job. Caitlin was faced with a choice: sink or swim.
And so, she swam.
A quiet drive during lockdown led her to a “For Lease” sign in
Cohasset. A phone call. A small room in a shared wellness
space. A leap of faith. And just like that, the Caitlin Beth (her
middle name) Skin Studio was born.
Clients followed. Word spread. Her faithful clients begged
her to add a spray tanning space, and lacking space, she
had to convert a closet into a spray tan room. Literally.
Before too long, she moved around the corner to her current
street-level location on Cohasset’s Main Street, allowing her
to create the welcoming, calming, and beautifully curated
studio she always envisioned.
Today, Caitlin and her longtime team, Lindsay and Amanda, offer a range of services: face and body waxing, lash and brow tinting, brow lamination, lash lift, custom facials, hydrafacials, nano needling, spray tanning, deraplaning, microchanneling, chemical peels and much more.
On Mondays, Maria who is a seasoned and experienced nurse is on site to provide Botox and Filler injections.
Coming this summer, in the newly expanded space upstairs: at her clients request Caitlin is bringing on advanced skin treatments and will bring on the incredible Fontona laser. Follow her on Instagram for upcoming events!
Finding Home
Caitlin grew up moving from state to state before finally landing on the South Shore during her junior year of high school. That move—to Hull—was the hardest.
“Such a small town was hard to conceive. Everyone knew everyone. And It was like, wait… are they all related” she laughed. It was her first glimpse into the close-knit, deeply rooted culture of the South Shore. And while it was a challenge to break in, it laid the groundwork for a future built on connection and community.
Early on, she started out working in childcare at Sandcastles and taking prerequisites for nursing but hadn’t quite found her calling. That’s when a friend suggested she explore esthetics.
One tour of the Catherine Hinds Institute and she was hooked and found her passion.
“I loved it. It was hands-on, it was people-focused, and it gave me this real sense of purpose.” From there, she committed to exploring the field with curiosity and dedication—working at spas across the region from Nantucket to Newbury Street, even having some celebrity-encounters (a facial for Emma Stone) along the way.
Her goal? To experience every kind of client, product, and spa environment out there. “I told myself, give each place a year. Learn something. And move on.”
Over time, she developed a highly-loyal following—many of whom have now been with her for over 20 years. Despite the encouragement of clients who urged her to open her own business over the years, she resisted.
“I wasn’t in it for the bottom line—I never wanted the pressure of running a business. I'm in it because I love my clients, and love making a difference to every client I get to meet!”
Outside of the treatment room, life is just as full.
She and her husband—whom she originally met in high school in Kentucky—reconnected later in life. He’s a retired Army vet and now a police officer. Together, they live in Hanover where they have a beautifully “crazy, blended, happy family” that includes seven kids and and 4 granddaughters who call her “Nana.”
A Space That Feels Like Home
Today, her studio is a sanctuary.
“I've heard for years from clients that it can be intimidating to walk into spas. That made me sad and I wanted to create a comfortable place for all to come and not feel judged.”
Trust is the foundation of everything she does—from the way she approaches skincare to how she runs her business.
“You're never going to feel pressured to buy something,” she says. “I’d rather develop a treatment plan and home care with my clients that is realistic for their specific needs and lifestyle. Then we build a relationship on trust. We get to see thieir transformation, and they feel so much better about themselves.”
“I love when I see my clients blossom into this new person…To feel confident is the most beautiful thing. That, to me, is what it's all about.”
As for her best beauty tips? Don’t overcomplicate your skincare, Caitlin says. “Exfoliate twice a week, use Retinol at night, a vitamin C serum during the day, use sunscreen, lot of water, good
rest, exercise.”
When you get a treatment in her studio, it is a mind, body and soul experience.
And, at the minimum do consider scheduling a facial at least every change of season. “Skincare is not all vanity, your skin is the biggest organ in your body and deserves to be taken care of” Cailtin says. “You shouldn’t feel guilty for taking care of yourself. You only get
one face.”
