Tony Bagni: A Builder You Can Trust

Tony Bagni and his son AJ
For Tony Bagni, building homes isn't just a job--it's a calling that's been ingrained in him since he was young.
Raised in Pembroke, Tony grew up surrounded by hardworking family members, from his father, who worked in computer networking, to his mother, who eventually found her calling in real estate.
But while many of his peers pursued college degrees after graduating from Silver Lake Regional High School in 2003, Tony took a different path.
He knew early on that his future lay in building, a decision that has led him to become one of the South Shore's top custom home builders.
THE JOURNEY TO MASTERY
Tony's introduction to construction began with his uncle, who taught him the ropes during summers. It wasn't just a job—it was a passion.
He applied to the prestigious North Bennet Street School in Boston's North End, known for its rigorous woodworking and craftsmanship programs. After three years of persistence, he was accepted at 21 and his real-world experience made him stand out as a leader among his peers.
After graduation, Tony took his skills to Martha's Vineyard, where he honed his craft for three years before returning to Boston, where he began working with top area builders.
By his late twenties, he was ready to take the next steps —homeownership and entrepreneurship. He purchased his first house on D Street in Hull and also officially launched Bagni Building. With his friend by his side, they built decks, took on custom projects, and steadily climbed the ranks in the industry.
He also encouraged his mother, Donna Bagni, a Pembroke real estate agent with Boston Connect, to obtain her license, envisioning a future of working together as a mother-son team; today, the pair frequently collaborate on projects. Tony's father, Gerry, assisted Bagni Building, doing everything from lumber runs to back office administration, before retiring earlier this year to begin his next chapter.
THE VISION BEHIND BAGNI BUILDING
Bagni Building is not just about constructing homes; it's about creating lasting legacies. Specializing in custom home building and historical restorations, Tony and his team take pride in bringing out the beauty of antique homes while ensuring modern functionality. He isn't afraid to tackle challenging projects, including intricate restorations of 1700s-era homes.
What sets Bagni Building apart is its commitment to transparency and quality.
Unlike many contractors, Tony believes in an open-book policy when it comes to billing. Clients know exactly where their money is going, which fosters trust and ensures smooth project execution.
"There has to be trust and integrity," Tony says, I have transparent billing, designed to grow the trust relationship as fast as possible."
His team is also comprised of skilled, dedicated craftsmen who share his work ethic and passion for the trade. I feel adamently my crew is the best around," Tony says. "I haven't seen anyone touch us in speed and quality. We hold to a high standard, at an affordable rate."
THE DREAM PROJECT: HOME BY THE OCEAN
Three years ago, when Tony's wife, Allicia, was pregnant, they found a beautiful oceanfront property on Q Street in Hull, a home with great potential but in need of serious work.
It was a bold move—purchasing a fixer-upper with a baby on the way— but Tony saw the long-term vision.
"This is going to be a ten-year Saturday project," Tony jokes. "It's a labor of love." With its breathtaking ocean views, it's a place where he envisions his 2-year-old son, AJ, growing up with the kind of childhood he always dreamed of-fishing, exploring, and being part of a tight-knit coastal community.
As a family man, Tony, now 40, structures his business around his personal values. He ensures his projects are close to home in towns like Cohasset, allowing him to spend as much time as possible with his son and his wife, Allicia, a former corrections officer Tony has known since high school.
"I've been chasing Allicia my whole life," he smiles, "and I finally got her."
BUILDING A FUTURE
Looking ahead, Bagni Building has exciting projects on the horizon, including historical renovations in Hingham Center and a full second-level addition on a ranch-style home in Allerton Hill.
As the demand for quality craftsmanship grows, Tony continues to vet clients carefully, ensuring they align with his company's high standards.
For those considering a major home project, Tony emphasizes the importance of planning ahead and having blueprints in hand.
"Start looking for your contractor in January," he advises. "By the time spring rolls around, the best ones are already booked. As soon as the tulips pop up, my phone starts ringing off the hook."
His philosophy is simple: quality work takes time, dedication, and the right people. And for those who choose Bagni Building, they're not just hiring a contractor-they're investing in a legacy of craftsmanship and trust that will stand the test of time.
