As a lifelong Long Islander who grew up in Commack, Michael Alber's roots in the community run deep. Today, he calls Laurel Hollow home—one of the many beautiful corners of this remarkable island. His path toward becoming a lawyer began early. As a child, he and his aunt would watch Matlock together, and he quickly became fascinated by the idea of standing up for justice. That early inspiration stayed with him, especially as he watched his older brother attend law school at Hofstra University. Following in those footsteps, he proudly became a Hofstra alum as well.

His legal career began in the District Attorney’s Office, where he spent three years developing the courtroom skills and experience that would shape the foundation of his practice. After that, he transitioned into private practice and eventually launched his own firm, taking cases that seemed unwinnable and winning.  He is humbled by so many people who counted on him in high-stakes cases so early on in his career.  Many of his cases have been publicized in the news and some nationally.  What began as a solo venture has grown over the past 12 years into a thriving practice with a team of more than 60 professionals, 11 offices, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence in law.

Headquartered in Huntington, the firm has expanded its reach significantly and now serves clients in offices across New York State while continuing to maintain its strong Long Island roots.
