Meet Your Neighbors
If you’ve spent any time in Anderson, there’s a good chance you’ve already crossed paths with the Rod or Coy families—and that’s exactly how they like it.
“Chances are, you’ve met someone in our family if you live in the Coldstream area,” Alexis Rod says with a smile. “It’s one big, happy family.”
After 10 years in the neighborhood, Alexis, her husband Kenny, and their two sons, Luke (13 years old) and Brandt (11 years old), have built a life deeply rooted in connection—not just within their own home, but throughout the community. With extended family living nearby—including multiple siblings and both sets of parents in Anderson—their days are filled with familiar faces, shared moments, and strong relationships.
“It’s the location for us! Our closest friends and family make this place so special,” Alexis shares.
Both Alexis and Kenny are both lifelong Anderson residents. The two first met in middle school, and after attending Vanderbilt University, their paths took them to different cities—Kenny to Milwaukee and Alexis stayed in Nashville. But ultimately, family brought them home.
And now, they’re raising their own family in the same spirit.
Their home has become a hub for connection, especially after a recent addition that’s quickly become their favorite space.
“In 2024, we put a roof over our deck that overlooks the pool,” Alexis says. “It was our greatest investment. Friends and family relax out there all Fall, Spring and Summer.”
It’s in those everyday moments—quiet evenings on the deck, conversations by the pool, and time spent together—that their version of home truly comes to life.
As busy as life can be, the Rod family makes it a priority to spend time together—and often, that means traveling.
“Travel is a great way for Kenny and I to pause our hectic schedules,” Alexis says. “This summer, we’re taking the boys on their first European adventure.”
The trip holds special meaning, as they’ll be visiting Ravensburg, Germany—the hometown of Alexis’s mother.
“They’re so excited,” she says. “And honestly, so are we.”
Closer to home—or wherever they happen to be—you’ll almost always find them at a sporting event.
“MLB stadiums, college baseball games, NBA games—any sport happening in a town we’re visiting, you’ll see us there,” Alexis says.
Their sons each bring their own passions to the mix. Luke loves baseball and has recently taken an interest in researching smart ways to spend his money—currently diving into the world of e-bikes. Brandt, on the other hand, is all about soccer, basketball, and STEM projects. Recently, he invested in Crunch Labs, where he’s been building and coding games the entire family can enjoy together.
At the heart of it all is a strong sense of purpose—something Alexis carries into every area of her life.
“I’m very passionate and always looking for ways to ‘do better,’” she says. “That’s something I learned from my father, and I hope my children carry that same drive.”
Professionally, both Alexis and Kenny wear multiple hats. Kenny works as a business consultant and real estate agent, while Alexis serves as a nurse practitioner with Anderson Hills Internal Medicine, a real estate agent with Sibcy Cline. She is also the president and co-founder of The Digital Balance Project. (If you'd like to read more about this check out their article in the March issue!)
Her commitment to the community is just as strong. Alexis serves as the Ayer Elementary PTO President, where she plays an active role in supporting students, families, and school initiatives.
Whether through her work, her family, or her involvement in the community, Alexis leads with intention.
“Leave all things better than when you started,” she says.
