Colleton River Charitable Fund, Neighbors United: A Lifeline for the Lowcountry

In South Carolina’s Lowcountry, cradled by rivers and their tidal marshes, our Colleton
River community stands united, quietly transforming lives through their generosity. The
Colleton River Charitable Fund (CRCF), powered by your donations, supports
neighbors in dire need across the Lowcountry.
In Beaufort County, 45% of households, and 59% in Jasper County, are economically at
risk, one mishap from crisis. Working poor families struggle to afford basics.
Homebound elderly face isolation. Families live in unsafe housing.
Children battle food insecurity. Some lack medical care, falling between Medicaid and
private insurance. Kids lag in literacy. Spouses are trapped in abusive relationships
without legal aid. The CRCF is their lifeline.
In 2024, charities submitted over $1 million in grant requests. We distributed over
$550,000, changing lives.
Our partners shared the impact:
“We cannot thank you enough…your generous donation provides hot home cooked
meals that include the sick, shut-in’s seniors, homeless, the unemployed, working and
poor families.” — Bluffton Community Kitchen
“Because of your support, our most vulnerable neighbors receive more than a nutritious
meal—they receive a powerful reminder that they are seen, they matter and that they
are never alone.” — Meals on Wheels Bluffton Hilton Head
“Your recent award of our literacy program is an extraordinary gift that will strengthen
our efforts to improve literacy outcomes for Bluffton Youth.” — Boys and Girls Club of
Bluffton-Jasper
“Because of your help we will continue to stand in the gap of healthcare inequality. Your
gift will provide for Glucose monitoring devices for Bluffton Residences suffering from
high Glucose levels.” — Volunteers in Medicine
“The lack of decent, affordable housing has become a crisis. Your grant for the livable
housing program will repair owner-occupied homes where the owners don’t have the
means to do the repairs.” — Deep Well Project
The need persists—hunger, illness, and crisis don’t pause--it’s 365 days 24/7. For 2025,
we’re setting our sights higher, aiming to raise $600,000 with 53% community
participation. This isn’t just about numbers; it’s about neighbors saying, “We see you.
We care.”
Your donation is a promise: no child goes to bed hungry, no family faces eviction alone,
no dream is crushed by circumstance. You’ve proven what’s possible; now, let’s ignite
more change. Donate to the CRCF to mend broken hearts, lift weary souls, and build a
stronger Lowcountry.
